Preface: Your Reason for Being
You are a unique person, chosen by your Creator as the one out of an astronomical number of possibilities to win the life-lottery at that particular moment on that particular day in that particular month of that particular year in that particular place of your conception. You are the unduplicated product of innumerable family histories, of a complex series of an indeterminate number of free choices made by all of your ancestors throughout the history of the human race. You are the sum of myriad characteristics and qualities passed on in your ancestral gene pool, to which you’ve added your own unique mix for all your family generations to come. If, at any time during all of your family history, certain events had not occurred as they did, or certain choices had not been made as they were, you would not exist nor would any of your descendants.
You truly are one-of-a-kind, the product of an intricate master plan throughout human history, devised by the all-powerful, always-and-everywhere-present and all-knowing and loving Back to God who, with the cooperation of your biological parents, brought you into existence at a particular time and place for a particular purpose known only to your Creator.
As part of this plan, God has equipped you with a unique combination of gifts and strengths. These, along with your training and skill-sets, enable you to play an important role in the specific tasks for which God created you. You have only to discover these tasks and to do your best to carry them out hour-by-hour, day by day, month by month and year by year.
But how can you discover them, much less carry them out? Two millennia ago, Jesus Christ emerged from the obscurity of a remote village perched on a hill in Galilee, a far-flung outpost of the Roman Empire, to proclaim to the people of Palestine a revolution in human thought, no less than a revelation of divine wisdom. His teaching during three brief years of public ministry continues to this day to inspire people worldwide to solve specific problems in the world: to give aid to the poor, the hungry, the thirsty, the unschooled, the homeless, the naked, the mentally and the physically ill, the grieving, the afflicted, the ravaged, the persecuted, the war-torn, and the imprisoned — anyone in any way marginalized.
This book presents to you Jesus’ six keys to an active, relational spirituality modeled after the inner life of God. Jesus revealed this deepest mystery of our faith so that we might offer to the Father, through Him, in the Holy Spirit loving and merciful service to others in need. In imitation of Jesus, in loving relation with the Father and the Holy Spirit, through our merciful inter-personal actions toward needy others, we will transform yourself into the effective agent for positive change in this world that our Creator designed us to be. Developed and taught by the Son of God, the greatest authority on positive world-change, the Way of Jesus Christ has inspired untold billions over the past twenty centuries to transform themselves into His likeness for the betterment of humankind and the extension of his Father’s kingdom on earth. Jesus calls each of us to play our role in effecting the renewal of His Way of life on earth.

Chapter 1: The First Key, Change Your Way of Thinking
Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near
(Matthew 4:17). Jesus used the word Repent!
to command us to reverse completely our human way of thinking and doing things to coincide with God’s paradoxical way expressed in Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:1-12), in the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9-15) and in His discourse on the last judgment (Matthew 25:31-46). This is the first key toward fulfilling your part in God’s plan for world change: transform yourself so that you can
