About this ebook
Death affects and comes to us all. It is silly and futile to ignore it. To find peace we must embrace it as a part of our journey while on this plane of existence. Death, whether of a person, animal, plan, way of life or thing, is the portal for birth or re-birth.
Rosa Christian
Rosa Christian came to the writing of poetry rather late in life, after her children struck out on their own journeys. She has regularly won or placed in poetry competitions since that time. Look Up
Breathe deep and relax,
Relax as you exhale,
Exhale your anxiety,
Anxiety causes tension,
Tension blocks healing,
Healing as you exhale,
Exhale, breathe deep.
Passing Through
Sunlit soft-ochre leaf falls
Red hair turns grey
Life giving way to death.
Tangled nests of debris
Mementoes of the wet
Memories of spent youth.
Cool shade argues with searing heat
Knotted, twisted trunks call me closer
Skeletal fingers beckon from gnarly limbs.
Bum cheeks imprint soft sand
People come and go
Swept away in the waters of life.
I leave the scorched earth
Enter the deep, spiritual purple
From where all life arose.
Decayed leaf and flesh fertilize
A seed brought to life by liquid
Death
