About this ebook
Light years away from Earth, the last remnants of humanity struggle to survive. A cataclysm hundreds of years ago knocked the planet off course, throwing the small colony into an endless, frigid night. With no light to heat their world, mankind must rely on Starfire dancers, an ancient religious order sworn to protect humanity, to draw the light from a distant star to warm their cities.
Aewit is just such a dancer. She’s loyal to her group, but when division among her people threatens to destroy everything she knows, which side will she choose?

And then, a warmth spread across her body, and she could feel the crystals embedded in her flesh warming with the light of the star. The crystals had been specially grown before her birth to absorb the distant light for her. For Aewit and those like her.
The crystals burned hot in her flesh. The circuits connecting them carried the heat with surprising efficiency to the rest of her body. Her head swam and her muscles gave. One of the musicians caught her before she hit the stone floor.
Are you alright?
