      In order to master the ability of multiplication, the student must first learn the basic multiplication tables, or as sometimes called, the times tables. The product of every number under ten should be set to memory, and recalled almost without effort. To obtain this ability requires practice and varied repetition. This book can assist in this process by providing instant positive feedback, leading the student to a basic knowledge of multiplication math.

      For complete coverage, this book includes advanced times tables for the numbers ten through twelve for those students who wish to expand their knowledge beyond the necessary basics. However, if only one through nine are mastered, all other numbers can be multiplied by standard means, and all without the need for an electronic calculator. Knowledge of the products of one through nine will aptly serve a student all his or her lifetime.

      Note that we use a symbol in this book that looks something like the small case x. We would read, for example, 3 × 5 as, 3 times 5, or 3 multiplied by 5. Practice makes perfect, and practicing the times tables leads to a solid foundation of multiplication.

      1) Select the two numbers to multiply.

      2) Try to remember the product of the two numbers.

      3) Click on the link for those two numbers.

      4) Confirm your knowledge of the answer.

      5) Return to the main times table.

      6) Try another two numbers.
