In The Madness Of Meeting - Isabella Amaris

    In The Madness of Meeting

    1

    It is always you,

    And I become you,

    When breath and thought

    Meet, feel, overpower.

    Where I loved I,

It is you who are loved now.

    2

    Love, Infatuation, Fascination,

    An illusion?

    Always.

    Forgotten?

    Never.

    Resting in my mind,

    Insidious, unmoving,

    My existence is mocked and

    Made true by yours.

    3

How can I forgive you for this?

    For this relentless assault,

    Upon senses and being,

    My creation is diluted

    By your own,

    And yet made whole,

    Destroyed, incomplete,

    By your creation,

    and destruction,

Saturated by cruelty and harsh beauty,

    Soaked in memory,

    As visceral and streaked

    in you as I am.

    4

    The blinding intelligence,

    Oneness of mind,

    Connection?

A laceration and the balm to soothe it,

    The needle, the thread;

    sharp, and

    so holding together,

    the broken pieces,

    strips of all forgotten,

    that when I fault you,

    I fault myself,

    And yet again,

    Remind myself,

    Of this painful world,

    This creation of flesh and

    Pointless, pointless, pointless,

    Until we were found,

    Grasping and cold,

    Hurting but healed,

    In the madness of meeting,

    Another of our kind.

    Conundrum

    1

    What human is this,

    That cries while hugely laughing,

Will love but loves in hurting,

That sees where there is nothing,

Yet is blind when faced with truth,

    What human is this?

    2

    What human is this,

That strives for lack of striving,

    Will not accept forgiving,

Can deal in lies and lying,

    Yet helps when needing needs,

    What human is this?

    3

    What human is this,

That feels but scorns such feeling,

Who cares but shows no thought,

    His smiles hide thoughts unpleasant,

Yet cold heart yearns to burst in warmth,

    What human is this?

    4

    What human is this,

    That dares but lives undaring,

    That lives but then exists,

Will know but won’t seek learning,

Yet hears once all is risked,

    What human is
