I’ve had the honor to work with Sherry Blair for six years now. I sought her out while working for another employer because I was looking to feel connected to my agency and valued as an employee. I also had a desire to learn and grow as a professional, and Sherry and her agency embodied many of the values that I was looking for at that time. Sherry is extremely passionate about her work, and she is one of the most compassionate leaders I’ve ever met. She leads from her heart, and her leadership style provides the type of work environment that attracts people to her and her agency. Sherry is constantly looking for new and improved ways to support, guide, and build inner wealth in her employees (and everyone she meets), and The Positivity Pulse provides the precision tools for accomplishing this goal.

What a timely message!
As global consciousness progresses from independence to interdependence, every relationship that we have, especially with our colleagues, who we spend increasing amounts of time with in this daunting economy, impacts every other relationship, including the relationship we have with ourselves.
I could easily identify Justice and Moody in my corporate world, and now I feel I am armed with the tools to change them and myself to be more like Senora Corazon.
If more people read and applied the nurtured heart approach at all levels within the organization, we could all be singing Shiny Happy People
by R.E.M...Put it in your heart, where tomorrow shines, gold and silver shine...

Preface
Howard Glasser
Howard Glasser (New York University, 1974) is the Executive Director of the Children’s Success Foundation in Tucson, Arizona. He is designer of The Nurtured Heart Approach and the author of Transforming the Difficult Child, published in 1999 and currently the top selling book on the subject of ADHD, and several other books on his approach. He lectures internationally, teaching therapists, educators and parents about The Nurtured Heart Approach, which is now being used in hundreds of thousands of homes and classrooms around the world. Howard is former director and clinical supervisor of Center for the Difficult Child and he has been a consultant for numerous psychiatric, judicial and educational programs.
Sherry Blair has a most impressive curriculum vita. She’s a graduate of Columbia University and holds a dual Master of Science in Social Work with concentrations in Policy Analysis and International Social Welfare and Industrial and Organizational Psychology. She is a licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Board Certified Professional Counselor as well as a Professional Coach.
She uses all of this academic knowledge to provide organizational consulting, coaching, behavioral health services, training and education across several counties in New Jersey. In a typical workweek, Sherry might do in-home counseling with an intensely troubled child or teenager and his family, give a seminar on Positive Psychology or the Nurtured Heart Approach, or consult with a major corporation – all while juggling the responsibilities of running her own business. Her role encompasses leadership, quality assurance, marketing, program development, clinical work (as a therapist to children, families and adults), business and executive coaching, employee assistance services and critical incident debriefings. And she’s found time, while keeping all of these aspects of her work life thriving, to write this – her first book.
Sherry has long been invested in using and teaching the tenets of Positive Psychology, which led her to the Nurtured Heart Approach - an approach I developed in the 1990s for transforming difficult children into their inherent greatness. She began using the approach in 2008 and became an Advanced Trainer of the approach in 2010 and has applied the approach with her trademark intelligence, wisdom and enthusiasm to her work as a counselor, supervisor and consultant. In this book, she demonstrates the utility of this approach in the corporate world, and she does so brilliantly.
When I first taught the Nurtured Heart Approach to parents who were learning to transform their challenging children, I was struck by how often people brought me stories about the ways in which its principles became useful – even transformational – in their workplaces:
One parent who had a large car dealership went on and on about the changes the approach had inspired for him at work.
