About this ebook
Humans have evolved to their present form in a few million years. And they have risen to prominence in just a few thousand; a mere speck in earth’s unfathomable timeline. Are we the first to gaze into the heavens contemplating our fate? Here, I present a short tale pondering the shortcomings of sentience. Once upon a time, sixty-five million two hundred and forty-two thousand years ago...

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love Mace and Stella. I love seeing the softer sweet side to Mace. He always did seem so pained and finally we hear the whole story and we are able to see behind his broodiness.
I loved Stella and how she used her music to cope with any emotions she was feeling. This book was different then the other Rock Chick books. This one showed different POVs at times. Mainly when we weren't expecting it. Though sometimes I liked it, sometimes I didn't when it became carried away. I am a little confused on why this epilogue was here only because it seemed to sound like it was wrapping the series up, even though there is still two more stories. I liked it, but hate the spoilers it contained. Anyways. moving on to Hector's story and then to Ally's story. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5ok this was another great one of the series , except the end , why did we need that much info fast forwarded ... it pretty much lets you know that hector and Sadie end up together , not that I did not expect that , but still kinda kills the next book ..... and Ally also all her info in the end .... Kinda not impressed with the 5yr fast forward on everyone , missed so much with weddings, births etc ....
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I'm disappointed to say that I didn't like this one as much. Either I'm too "used" to the antics of the characters, or as I more likely suspect, the earlier frenetic "craziness" is toned down in the books. I miss that! I also found the switching from character points annoying. If this was to be Stella & Mace's story, it just seemed that there were too many other stories thrown in. This would also be a good time to point out that you do NOT want to get me started on the end. The Epilogue just pissed me off. It made me wonder if the author originally planned for this to be the end of the Rock Chick series, because to go 5 years out & start naming off couples, kids, etc... is a killjoy. I normally assign these a definite 5 stars, but this one I really waffled between 3 & 4.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Did not finish. Started to remind me of the childrens' memory game where you go around in a circle, repeating everybody before you-- "I'm going on a trip and I'm taking an Axe and a Bandana and a Clothespin"-- except with Rock chicks. I could not get warmed up to the couple because they had been split up for a year. Also the head-hopping POV shifts did not contribute anything to the story.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5AMAZING! EPIC finale.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Mace was an enigma going into this one, and it took me a while to warm up to Stella. I didn't dislike her, but it took me a while to really like her, if that makes sense. But, as usual, KA pulled it off and I loved them both by the end.
The epilogue felt like it came a book or two too early though, because it gives away the next two couples, and I kinda like being surprised. - Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Stella was super obnoxious in the beginning and I absolutely hated Ally, which is no surprise, she's one of my least favorite characters...actually, she IS my least favorite character. Anyway, later on in the book she stopped being obnoxious and the rest of the book was normal Kristen Ashley awesome.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5So I started the Rock Chick series just over a week ago and haven't written a review till now. With each book I just had to keep reading, getting more and more involved with the characters stories and where they were going. But after reading this I just had to write something, so here goes.
I just finished reading this last night (well early morning!) and I am a bit torn. It was the most emotional of the series so far for me (not having read about Hector yet). I cried, had my heart thumping in my chest on more than one occasion, then gasping for breath, at other times smiling and grinning. I just could not put it down.
I just was left wanting more of Stella.
Before this book I was intrigued by Mace and was looking forward to his story. He had been through so much and I knew that this was going to be a deeper, more emotional ride that the previous stories. I loved the glimpse of his previous history with Stella, and the circumstances of their previous break up set the tone perfectly for the development of their relationship. To watch both of them wrestle with strong emotions and come to some deep understandings about themselves as well as each other was so touching and at times gut wrenching. I loved the moment when Stella finally "got it" about being there to support Mace and what she did after that made me love her all the more. And Mace, well, I just wanted to hug him and take the pain away. So far, I have loved each of the Hot Bunch more and more as I go along and thought that, till now, Luke and Vance were my favourites, but now Mace has just claimed a soft spot in my heart.
At the end I felt a bit sad that Stella looked like she was an outsider considering Stella is "the" rock chick, but when I thought about it I realized that, during the book, I really liked the fact that she was different from the Rock Chicks in keeping things to herself and Mace, and not getting caught up in the gossip when she didn't want to. I felt this made their relationship more sacred somehow.
I did like the different point of views because it still kept the rest of the Rock Chicks and the Hot Bunch close, but at one stage(only one) I just wanted to get back inside Stella's head. I just love how KA weaves the other stories into the main story in each book.
At the start of the book Kristen suggests you read the lyrics and listen to the songs she lists as you read the corresponding sections of the book, and if you really want to feel what the characters are feeling(and have a good cry at the same time) then I recommend this too. This tipped my emotions over the edge and I was then even more immersed in their story, if that was possible.
And what he said with the background soundtrack of the repeating end notes of a soul-destroying rock song changed my fucking life.
“I can’t be the star in your sky when you’re the only star left shining in mine”
OMG!! **swoon**
The epilogue at the end was fantastic but I felt it should have been at the end of the 8th and final book and I could totally see, and would absolutely love, a spin off series with Stella and Mace and their new direction.
I hope the wait for book 8 is not too long now but at the same time I will be so sad to read the end of the series.
