About this ebook
Who needs a stupid prom date? Not Lacey. Not ever. Unlike the rest of her squealing, screaming softball team, Lacey needs no one.
Certainly not some mousey nerd she bowls over in her rush to leave the field. Because for girls like Lacey, the perfect date...
Never exists.
Another story of love and understanding, and of finding yourself. In the popular Little League series, where dreams and second chances... come true.

The Little League Series
One
Lacey didn’t need a stupid prom date. She yanked off a cleat and threw it into her bat bag. Why would she even want to go to some stupid prom anyway ?
From the other end of the dugout—the far end—Elizabeth let loose another squeal as she revealed who had asked her to prom. Just because Lacey had zero interest in attending prom, didn’t mean the rest of the team felt the same.
At least half jumped around Elizabeth, ponytails flapping and whipping any nearby faces. They pushed and shoved each other to be the first one to give the congratulatory hug.
Lacey grit her teeth as the expected answering squeals rose and echoed in the small, half-enclosed space. At least the fencing allowed most of the noise to escape. You’d think they’d won the stupid Division or something.
Thank God practice was over, and thank God she’d managed to survive without booting anyone off the field, purposefully throwing at her fellow players during batting practice, or generally beating someone up.
Although, that last part was a near thing.
Her teammates, from her fellow seniors to the still-baby freshmen, couldn’t shut-up about prom for five seconds. Shit, it was like nothing else in the world existed except pink, frilly dresses and who was taking who.
Another chalkboard screech burst
