While this is one of the toughest teachings for many women, when understood it gives the wife great freedom! Freedom to be all she is to be in Christ, as well as working towards the attainment of the Proverbs 31 Woman. This teaching will walk you through what God intended for the act of submission to be, not what man’s rules and religions has made it into. Be clean before God in this area, ladies, and see the freedom that it will bring.
There is a lot that goes into being a submissive wife. Trusting God to work through your husband for your best interest is a hard one, but trust you must. You are not to place your trust that your husband will always make the right decision, your trust is in Father God to make it come out all right no matter which way your husband goes. You show your husband your point of view and then trust Father God to take care of the rest. You will have peace because God will be in charge.
There are a lot of aspects to being a submissive wife such as having Godly character; being in relationship with the Father; reading the Word, the logos of God to learn more about Him and to grow strong in your faith are the highlights of how to be a submissive wife. It all starts with a humble heart before the Lord. Submission is a lifestyle, pleasing to the Lord. When you walk in these principals, Father God sees your heart and blesses you.
Men on the other hand have a different call in this area. Their position is to cherish the gift that God has given them, you the wife.

To Submit or Not to Submit – That is the Question…
Submission – the dreaded word of the Bible that makes women scream and men puff up.
This is the word that men have used to demand that women obey their every word.
This is the word that men have used to demand their will be bent to.
This is the word…_________________________ you fill in the blanks.
What is your impression of what the word submission is all about?
But what did Father God intend when he told Eve to submit to her husband, and what is His intention for every woman that has been told to submit since - what was He (God) thinking!?!?!?! That women would become doormats for their husbands? Did He think that we would roll over and do all that our master bade us do? I believe slavery went out with Lincoln. What was God thinking?!?!?!?
Well let me show you an insight that the Lord showed me: Adam was his first born human son. Any parent will tell you that there is something special about the first born. It isn’t that you love that child any more than other children that follow, it is just that there is something special about the first born, call it what you want. Adam was special to Father God. God wanted to bless Adam so He made Eve, the original Proverbs 31 Woman. She was all that God wanted for his first born, Adam.
But then in enters the enemy, satan the snake. He spoke to Eve with his enticing way and seduced her into biting of the fruit. Had she been doing what she was supposed to do, she would have spoken to her husband before she made any decisions. But no, she had to do it her way, she had to deal with the serpent herself. Eve’s actions were the very first rebellion in scripture. She was being rebellious to God and rebellious to her husband.
God had given Eve the perfect set up with Adam to keep her safe, the perfect set up where she would be loved and cherished and she blew it! She absolutely blew it! How many times have you blown it with your other half? It could have been a boyfriend or a husband. It could have been a husband to be… did you blow it because you wanted your own way? And how important was it to have your own way? Was it worth it? How different would your life be right now if you had not been stubborn and insisted on your own way?
Ephesians 5:21-33 The Message: Out of respect for Christ, be courteously reverent to one another. Wives, understand and support your husbands in ways that show your support for Christ. The husband provides leadership to his wife the way Christ does to his church, not by domineering but by cherishing. So just as the church submits to Christ as he exercises such leadership, wives should likewise submit to their husbands.
Husbands, go all out in your love for your wives, exactly as Christ did for the church—a love marked by giving, not getting. Christ's love makes the church whole. His words evoke her beauty. Everything he does and says is designed to bring the best out of her, dressing her in dazzling white silk, radiant with holiness. And that is how husbands ought to love their wives. They're really doing themselves a favor—since they're already one
in marriage.
No one abuses his own body, does he? No, he feeds and pampers it. That's how Christ treats us, the church, since we are part of his body. And this is why a man leaves father and mother and cherishes his wife. No longer two, they become one flesh.
This is a huge mystery, and I don't pretend to understand it all. What is clearest to me is the way Christ treats the church. And this provides a good picture of how each husband is to treat his wife, loving himself in loving her, and how each wife is to honor her husband.
The Message explains this in a unique way that makes sense. When wives support their husbands, they show support for Jesus. When she is submissive to her husband, then he can take on his proper role in the relationship as the head of the family, which is where God intended for him to
