About this ebook

In a dizzying whirlwind of boys and crushes, friends and frenemies, not to mention family, school, and other drama, it’s a wonder the average teenage girl doesn’t simply collapse from the pressure she faces day in and day out.
Managing to keep it together long enough to make it through today, and many more days, Dani Jacobs, the main character of Dear diary... THE TEA HAS BEEN SPILL'T!!! must find her way through distant sisters who no longer speak, frenemies with more layers than meet the eye, and boys... and they’re an entirely different story! With all of this to deal with, a girl has to have someone to talk to. All of this can’t be held inside without the imminent possibility of explosion! And, who is left to hear Dani’s innermost thoughts and secrets? Her diary, of course, a young girl’s best friend.

I'm an easy going Florida girl who loves fun in the sun at the beach. I enjoy cooking, singing, definitely writing, and trying new things. I'm a wife, a mom, a teacher, a sister, a daughter, a friend, and I'm still learning how much more I am. Okay, enough of the quirky self advertising... The truth is that while I haven't experienced everything, I have experienced enough to know that life is meant to be learned from, enjoyed, and shared. That's exactly what I try to do in my writing. I learn from where I've been. I apply what I've learned so that I may enjoy life, and I share all that I am, joy... pain... and weirdly funny times in between, with others.Dear diary... THE TEA HAS BEEN SPILL'T!!! is the first book that I've completed as an adult. While it was written with middle school girls in mind, I believe anyone who were to pick it up and try it out would find it to be a light-hearted tale with funny twists throughout.Be on the look out for more books and short stories coming soon in the very near future. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy Dear diary... THE TEA HAS BEEN SPILL'T!!!. Have a blessed day.

Dear Diary… The Tea has been Spill’t!

Chapter 1… Great expectations gone wrong

    Blog 1 November 7 #pleasepassthetea

I’m not really sure how to do this. I’ve never blogged before. I mean, I guess it’s like a diary online. Did I even say that right?… blogged. Whatever, I never needed one before. I always had my sister to talk to. But wait… before I write about her, let me start from the beginning. First, my name is Danielle Jacobs, but everyone calls me Dani. I figure if I’m going to tell you all of my inner most secrets, I should at least say who I am. So like I said, I have a sister, Michelle. We call her Shelly. Or at least we used to. Now, she only wants to go by Mi-che-lle (with all the accents included!). We’re best friends. Well… I guess that’s changed, too. Things are so different now. We don’t hang out like we used to. We don’t even talk as much. In fact, it feels like I’m being replaced. You see, this is her first year in high school, and it’s like she started this whole new life without me. Hopefully that’ll all change. You see, today is the day… the long awaited day to tame the fierce new rollercoaster at the annual fair. Every year they have a new rollercoaster, and this year it’s Jekyll and Hyde. I heard it got its name because the ride starts off with a few little dips that tease you into thinking that it’s just another ride. Then it throws you into a world wind of hair-raising drops and turns. Then, just as you’re catching your breath while rounding the last corner, out of the blue you’re thrown into a staggering series of loops, twists, spirals, and dunks that leave you breathless until the ride’s end. How can I resist it! This ride, on this day full of new ideas and endless possibilities (I know, kinda sappy, huh? I thought I’d try something new… this being my first blog and all.), is my challenge… a challenge that I readily and fully accept. It’s our annual tradition to conquer the newest rollercoaster at the fair. So new life or not, she has to be as excited as I am… right?

I shut down my computer, and went to Shelly’s bed. I stood over her for a little while, looking and wondering. Then I shouted…

    Wake up, Shelly!

I waited a little while. But she didn’t move. She was faced away from me, and her bed was in the corner of the room, up against two walls, so I couldn’t get right in her face to call her… well, I could, but oh well… I called her again, pushing her shoulder.

    Hey! Shelly! Wake up!

When she still didn’t move, I decided to jump on her bed while calling her. Probably not the best idea, but who cares! Today we were going to fair! Nothing could go wrong on the day you’re going to the fair!

Shelly opened one eye slowly and then the other. She didn’t say anything, but I knew that look. I’d seen it once before when I lost her favorite pair of earrings that she saved for a month to buy. It was the look of death… painful death. But I didn’t care. I jumped on her bed one last time as hard as I could and yelled.

    Come on, Shelly! Get up!

Stop calling me Shelly! My name is Michelle!

She was quick. Shelly jumped out of bed, and chased me out of the room. We ran straight into the kitchen, and crashed into our dad. He had just filled his bowl with cereal, so the crash resulted in a gigantic heap of bananas and corn flakes all over the kitchen floor.

Before thinking, I said, Got milk?

I’ve been told that I do that a lot. You know… talk without thinking. I’ve always been good for making a joke, but I’m not so good at timing. Now was no different. After getting that look of painful death again from my sister, we started cleaning the mess as dad turned to make a new bowl of cereal. This morning was not going as I had planned it.

Danielle, if we don’t get to the fair today, it will be your fault! Michelle griped.

Humph! What’s up with calling me Danielle? That’s new.

I know, I said trying to ignore her pessimism, but I’m so excited. Today we ride Jekyll and Hyde, the biggest and fastest ride at the fair! Gina said she’s already been on it, and she’s bragging that she’s the only one out of all of us in the neighborhood who isn’t too scared to ride it. I can’t let everyone go around believing that!

Gina… my rival… my enemy… my reason for completely avoiding the street she lives on! It’s hard to believe we were once friends. Now we can’t even pass each other without exchanging evil glares. She’s known for stretching the truth, exaggerating, and overall just lying. The way I see it, it’s my duty to expose her as the mean and nasty person she is for all those poor unsuspecting fools, like my sister, who just don’t seem to know any better.

Danielle you know full well that half the stuff that girl says is a lie, and the rest of it isn’t true! Besides, why are you letting what someone else says get to you so much. You know mama and daddy both say that we should set the example, not follow someone else’s.

Your sister is right, Danielle mama said walking into the kitchen.

Michelle glared at me as if to say Nah… I told you!

I stood there in the kitchen watching everything play out so wrongly, like I was in a horrible dream that I couldn’t stop.

And that’s when it hit me… Shelly, I mean Mi-che-lle, has been really cranky lately. I don’t know her anymore. She’s not as much fun since she started high school. Now that she’s in the 9th grade, we don’t hang out and talk the way we used to. It feels like a century since the
