Silvio Famularo is a New Zealander of Italian decent. He has had a varied career as an opera singer, comedian, actor and public speaker as well as having owned and managed several businesses. Now in his later years he is mainly devoting his time to writing books with the aim of sharing the good and valuable information he has learned in life with others. My Wish
One of my great wishes is that the whole world could communicate by speaking, reading and writing in the same language. Naturally, being lazy, I would like the language to be English so that I wouldn’t have to put in the hours, let alone the years, of study required to become fluent in some other tongue. But apart from my own purposes, there is no doubt that English would be the most practical choice for a universal language. Here are just a few reasons why:
1) At least two thirds of the world’s commerce, to my knowledge, is already carried out through the English language.
2) More people by far speak English as a second language than any other.
3) There are already hundreds of millions of people who can teach it to others.
4) There is an increasing number of people from non-English speaking nations who want to learn it.
