About this ebook
Live . . . Laugh . . . Read . . . with New York Times bestselling author Christie Craig . . .
"...Fans of Janet Evanovich should check (Craig) out." —Parkersburg News and Sentinel on DIVORCED, DESPERATE AND DELICIOUS.
Macy Tucker was five years old when her beloved grandfather dropped dead in his spaghetti. At twelve, her father left his family in the dust. At twenty-five, her husband gave his secretary a pre-Christmas bonus in bed, and Macy gave him the boot. To put things lightly, men have been undependable.
That's why dating's off the menu. Macy is focused on putting herself through law school—which means being the delivery girl for Papa's Pizza. But cheesier than her job is her pie-eyed brother, who just recently escaped from prison to protect his new girlfriend. And hotter than Texas toast is the investigating detective. Proud, sexy . . . inflexible, he's a man who would kiss her just to shut her up. But Jake Baldwin's a protector as much as a dish. And when he gets his man—or his woman—Macy knows it's for life.

Reviews for Gotcha! A Tall, Hot & Texan Novel

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Lisht-hearted, humorous romance. Macy Tucker’s family is, of course, dysfunctional, her Mom has spent 14 years crying since abandoned by her husband, her Grandmother is a super-active senior who teaches yoga, Macy is divorced from a cheating husband and her brother is in prison for robbing a convenience store (no less in her car). Billy has asked Macy to visit him in prison because he needs to tell her a really bad prisoner is mad and him and is threatening to rape and kill Macy in revenge. Now, you would think this is bad enough but then a prison break and brother Billy is one of the escapees. Now Macy is under investigation as the “bad dude prisoner “Tank” also escaped so she is a target.Too much ‘matress mambo’ it just wasn’t necessary, the story could hold its own without the gratuitous sex. Oh well, it seems to be a requirement in romance stories now. Still a fast paced read that was enjoyable.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Title: Gotcha!Author: Christie CraigPublisher: Love SpellReviewed By: Arlena DeanSeries: Tall, Hot & Texan # 1Rating: 5Review:"Gotcha!" by Christie Craig was a sweet contemporary romance with some humor, drama, mystery and suspenseful read. This was definitely one of those reads that once you started you will not want to put it down until the end. I found the read a fast paced read with a lot of characters that were simply off the chart well developed in helping produce a well written story. I loved how this author was able to give us a script with so much going on, however, it was all covered very well in this long read. The hero and the heroine were really .... well this is where I say you must pick up "Gotcha" and we will see if the guy can get the girl alone with the other crimes that were going on in the read. If you are looking for a read with some romance, suspense and humor, you have come to the right place for "Gotcha" will give it all to you in this amazing good read that I would recommend.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I got this as a freebie. I can't always be lucky as with Penelope. I wonder if I should rate a book two stars only because I read it in one sitting and it wasn't boring while at the same time it had some serious issues. It really needs better editing: "... she didn't have a clue how to dead with him", "Macy two-stepped it hack into her living room", "His next breath came flavored with the baby power that his mom used after showering."
I didn't make any typos there. Some are silly even without mistakes: "Her breasts were Playboy beautiful" or "She missed him so bad her toenails ached". If the last one is possible, I apologize.
Macy is another reason which might prevent people to enjoy this. She does exactly the thing she isn't supposed to at the most dangerous time. Oh, and she calls menstruation Aunt Flo.
But despite all that I actually had fun reading this because Macy's family is weird and there is a lot of humour. Even though her grandmother is a caricature, she is the one that makes this book funny. I have to justify two stars somehow.Nan stared at Baldwin. “What did my granddaughter do?” Her mom spoke up. “You said she hit him in the balls.” “She did.” Nan looked at Baldwin. “Did she hit you in the balls again?”
...Suddenly, bolting through the open door came the FBI man himself. He glared at Macy. “I want to talk to you,” he growled. “Did she hit everyone in the balls?” her mom asked. “Maybe,” Nan said. “It does give a woman a rush.”
