    Astrology Unveiled - Angelo Distefano

    ABOUT THE COVER

At the top of the page is an ancient Egyptian symbol called the wings of spirit. It bares the seven colors representing the seven spirits of creation. In symbology wings are always associated with spirit because wings are what is used to fly through air. Air is the very essence of spirit and air permeates every thing on this planet and is one of the four elements that sustains life. In the center of the wings is a circle surrounded by twenty-four tongues of flame, representing the male and female aspects of twelve sun signs. The circle has no beginning and no end, the alpha and omega. It’s a symbol of perfection. A triangle is placed in the center of the circle representing the Trinity of God — power, wisdom and love. The even cross symbolizes earth. The four figures on each corner represent the four fixed signs in the zodiac: Aquarius, the man; Scorpio, the eagle; Taurus, the bull and Leo, the lion. These four are the fixed signs of materialization and while surrounding the text, and they enforce the ideas presented. As the reader absorbs this information, it materializes through the personality as new attitudes and a heightened sense of spirituality.

In the center of the zodiac is a white winged horse placed within the Sun — the giver of life. This symbol represents the constellation Pegasus. This is the first decadent, or sector of the new age sign Aquarius. When astrologers refer to the ages, or the changing of the ages; they refer to this as the changing of the great Sun. This is one of the reasons we know the ages have changed because the great Sun is now transiting the sign Pegasus. A quote from the Bible in revelations states, when Christ returns He would be atop a great white horse. In metaphysics, this would imply that there will be a whole new change in consciousness and if we look around, we can clearly see that this is surely occurring.

Around Pegasus is the all-familiar zodiac. The circle of the zodiac represents the twelve sun signs that govern what astrologers call the ecliptic. This is an imaginary 30-degree belt of space around the Earth and it is the apparent path that the Sun transits in its annual orbit. Each of these symbols represents a certain quality that relates to the soul nature of humanity.

The constellations are: Aries The Ram, Taurus The Bull, Gemini The Twins, Cancer The Crab, Leo The Lion, Virgo The Virgin, Libra The Scales, Scorpio The Scorpion, Sagittarius The Centaur, Capricorn The Goat, Aquarius The Water Bearer, and Pisces The Fishes. The reason astrologers of the past used these particular symbols is that the people born during the times the Sun was transiting each sign, showed many of the characteristics associated to these symbols. If we examine the key words of each sign starting with Aries - the first sign they are: I will, I have, I think, I feel, I am, I analyze, I balance, I desire, I see, I use, I know and I believe. As you can see, there is a definite state of evolution transpiring here.

    FORWARD

Greetings! We bid you a generous and light filled hello! Perhaps you are wondering about the title of this book Astrology Unveiled. Perhaps you are asking yourself, how can a subject so ancient just now be unveiled? Is it really time for humanity to know the simple truth about their spiritual nature? Can humanity coincide peacefully and creatively with nature? Are we born with a spiritual blue print when we take our first breath of spirit? Can humanity ever understand and except each other? The true natural answer to all these questions is yes. To humanity, knowledge is but theory and subject to change and variation. As humanity progresses in consciousness, all knowledge will become clearer, more truthful and liberating. Wisdom is knowledge tempered by love.

When we took our first breath of the living spirit or air, we became a living spiritual being. From that time on, we became conscious. In the truest human sense, Consciousness is all there ever was and all there will ever be. Remember always perception is the father of philosophy and spiritual belief. In the first seven years of our innocent lives, we were closest to the living spirit, as the innocent child in the palm of Gods hand. The illusionary material world seems to draw us away from our spiritual heritage. It is our sincerest wish to help our readers find that child again and to reunite our souls with the beautiful healing forces of God and nature.

The contents of these spiritual writings will unveil natural law and spiritual principals of astrology and symbolism exhibited throughout the ages. We will focus on sun sign characteristics clearly displayed in adults and children. We will show the connection between humanity and the four elements of all creation, which are fire, earth, air and water. This comprehensive peace of literature will shed much light on the purpose of the soul exhibited through the planets and earth houses at the time of birth. The extensive chapters on symbolism and the tarot will provide a truer and deeper understanding of what astrology and metaphysics means to us as an evolutionary race. Until we align ourselves with natural law, there will be no peace and the consciousness of humanity cannot progress to a higher level. Remember consciousness is all there is. This book may not contain all the answers, but it can provide a natural new perspective about ourselves and the world we live in. This just may be the most fun book you’ll ever get your hands on. So, we proudly present to you, our reader, Astrology Unveiled.

"We are limited to what we fear, we are free to the boundaries of what we know, we live to the extent of what we love."

    — Angelo Distefano

    INTRODUCTION

In the 45 years combined experience of witnessing the art of astrology, we the authors have come to realize many valuable truths. The one truth that holds up every time is, everything and everyone has a nature and it is duel. The thing that always surprises me most is how we exist and respond to nature daily and how very few of us are aware of it. Astrology is a study of nature’s cycles and how humanity responds to electromagnetic vibrations sent to Earth by the planets, stars and asteroids of our solar system. By realizing the effects of planetary vibrations and the cycles of nature, we begin to understand the true spiritual patterns of the natural laws of life.

The antiquity of astrology has placed it among the earliest records of human learning. You’ll be delighted to find true stories of life unfolding, and how every being corresponds to positions and relations of heavenly bodies at the time of birth. Before I was acquainted with astrology, I tried in vain to understand my reasons for living. I was confused and often wondered what my true potential might be. When I learned that astrology is one of the oldest scientific-philosophies on Earth, I began to study the subject. I found astrology is knowledge of truth, whose symbols exposed depth and spiritual insight. A first I was extremely skeptical and even frightened at times by its many truths and insights. Astrology is a knowledge that gives us the power to plot our own course in life. However, like every thing in this world, it can be used for or against us. Everything in this world is duel natured, how we chose to use knowledge will determine who we really are. Remember there’s only love, and love conquers all.

As I studied the ancient symbols I found myself expanding mentally and spiritually. I became more aware of what was really happening around me. Just by remembering everyone’s sun sign, I found myself understanding situations and people I had never understood before. Astrology showed me that I needed other people to complete my own tasks and soul’s purposes. After studying and observing the effects of the stars and planets on myself and all the people and creatures around me, I was amazed at how we react to these electromagnetic vibrations without even being aware of it. To my surprise, my life became more enjoyable, fun and rewarding with less pain, confusion and strife.

It’s a wonderful experience to share and cooperate with nature and to understand your fellow man. When we know we grow, when we grow we glow. We curiously, or jokingly ask each other what is your sign? Little do we know how much that information pertains to a greater part of our real self. Perhaps there is something in our subconscious mind that want’s to know who we really are. We may ask ourselves why is one person so enthusiastic and another so grounded? Through knowledge of astrology we get to witness a clearer picture unfolding within ourselves and others. You will see how this book complements many of our truest spiritual potentials and our best creative material capabilities. Just knowing a person’s solar sign can open door’s of communication that would be incomparable to any knowledge on this planet.

Example: As any astrologer knows, the sun signs are related directly to the 12 signs of the zodiac.

    These signs and their key words are: Aries - I Will, Taurus - I Have, Gemini - I Think, Cancer - I Feel, Leo - I Am, Virgo - I Analyze, Libra - I Balance, Scorpio - I Desire, Sagittarius - I See, Capricorn - I Use, Aquarius - I Know and Pisces - I Believe.

If the simple information in the last paragraph were to suddenly become a part of the whole human consciousness, the human race could increase its ability to communicate and understand each other by a hundred fold in one single day. Not only would we come to understand each other, we could truly enjoy one another. In astrology, we teach the soul, or sun sign is the essence of our consciousness, for the element of the sun sign governs the conscious mind. The heart = soul and the mind = consciousness, these two are in constant communication. When the heart is pure, the mind is clear.

When studying the astrological natal chart there are many other things to consider. A natal chart is like a photograph taken from Earth of the solar system at the time a person was born. This book contains an in-depth study of the planets in the zodiac signs and the planets in the Earth houses. When an accurate horoscope is constructed from a person’s birth data a study of the natal chart can be done by looking up planetary aspects. This information reveals how individually unique each person is to nature. The natal chart can reveal ones highest spiritual, mental, emotional and physical potential. Example: The Sun in Leo, in the fifth house are all derived from the same energies, therefore they are all complementary aspects to each other.

When studying astrological symbolism, remember you are studying bits and pieces like a jigsaw puzzle. When each piece is studied and comprehended, the pictures of life become clearer. This awareness reveals our soul’s purpose, mental tendencies and our creative abilities. We automatically experience lives that are healthier, happier and more truthful. Astrology is the purest form of human psychology, it allows us to love and accept all our brothers and sisters. This ancient knowledge helps one to understand the forces of nature and to love all creation. By no means worship these symbols, but give full credit and worship to the Creator of all, The Trinity of Power, Wisdom and Love.

The contents of this literature are presented in the spirit of love and tone of philosophy. It is formatted in such a way that the expert and the novice astrologer will easily comprehend its many simple truths. Isn’t it time to see yourself in the light that nature created you to be? This is our time now, the Age of Aquarius, the time of liberation, individualism and freedom. True followers of spiritual astrology believe in brotherhood, love, justice, charity, equality, wisdom, freedom and understanding for all. This labor of love is dedicated to our Master Jesus The Christ and to the light bearers, those defenders of truth and liberty who are bold in spirit and will lead humanity into the new light age. This era will inspire wisdom, truth, and universal order and will manifest a lasting freedom and peace.

    CHAPTER ONE

    WHAT IS ASTROLOGY?

The word astrology is derived from two Greek words: astra or star, and logos or logic. It is often referred to as the wisdom of the heavens. It has been preserved for humanity by the prophets, seers and other keepers of the flame of truth throughout the ages. Dating back thousands of years and existing in practically every country that exhibited any form of human evolution, this makes astrology, some of the most studied and evolved knowledge in Earth’s history. The uses of this universal knowledge are so vast that they could not even be numbered. In fact, it’s truths and uses are so powerful it has been kept from the masses throughout the ages. It is only now that we possess the spiritual insight, comprehension and compassion as a race to use it properly.

When humanity was in its infant stages of consciousness, surely they gazed up at the heavens and knew deep within their souls that we are intimately connected to the stars and the universe. Since the first conscious thought we as a race have been unfolding, hoping some day that we, as the heavens would be made whole. Astrology was different in many civilizations and it seemed to develop independently. Since the first Bedouin shepherds started noticing the patterns of the stars in the heavens, the progression of Astrology began. The Chaldeans, who lived in Babylon (now Iraq), developed one of the original forms of astrology as early as 3000 BC. The Chinese were practicing astrology by 2000 BC. The Chinese zodiac signs are called rat, ox, tiger, hare, dragon, serpent, horse, sheep, monkey, hen, dog and pig. By 500 BC, astrology had spread to ancient Greece; it was at this time Greece reached her height. It was because of astrologers like Aristotle, Pythagoras, Plato and Ptolemy who used this ancient form of knowledge to enhance and elevate every form of thought within their country. They incorporated it in their writings, medicine, art, agriculture and government. They were some of the greatest astrologers because their main focus in life was the relentless search for truth. As astrologers, they possessed superior knowledge that could shed much light on future and past experiences.

Other varieties of astrology formed in ancient India as well as in Central America, Rome, North America and countless other countries. These people observed that certain astronomical bodies, particularly the Sun, affected the change of seasons and the success of medicine, crops and fishing. Based on calculated observations, astrologers developed a broader system by which the movements of other bodies such as the planets represented additional aspects of life. As astrology became introduced to the European nations it took on a different form and meaning, unfortunately it became a science rather than a philosophy. There was a time when kings and rich businessmen were the only ones counseled by astrologers. However, if one wrong forecast resulted, a quick and sudden death was inevitable for the astrologer. As time went on, humane astrologers and philosophers developed a grander scheme for their liberating knowledge, they would share it with the common people who possessed good hearts. These astrologers in turn would pass on this knowledge on to anyone who wished to know truth and harmony. In turn, the evolutionary process of this ancient art became a common tool for anyone wishing to abide within the laws of nature and be a co-creator with the universe.

Astrology is a metaphysical marvel that indicates human reactions to planetary vibrations within our solar system. We collect thoughts in our subconscious while asleep or when we meditate, we express those mental impressions when conscious or awake, here again, a double nature exists. Astrology teaches spiritual potentials and natural soul compatibility. It is a philosophy of nature expressed by actions and reactions. Like all the ologies and isms, it is mainly ruled by the sign Aquarius, which is the New Age sign. Astrology exposes changing circumstances in life and the true nature of those circumstances. It prepares one to manipulate and transform so-called adverse conditions before they appear, manifesting better conditions in advance.

As one example of how astrology psychologically influences humanity, we will consider the affects of the Sun. This planet affects every living thing on Earth. Its rays are among the most influential and beneficial to humanity. The Sun in one’s natal chart indicates the real self, or the soul’s purpose and is said to affect the conscious mind. In our solar system, the Sun gives soul power. The word’s sun, soul, and solar are derived from the same root word. The Sun gives power to regenerate and reproduce life. If you planted a flower or tree, would you keep it out of sunlight? Of course not for the new plant would surely die. When the Sun doesn’t shine, we are more apt to become irritable or feel dull. Anything seen in sunlight is automatically bright and clear to the mind.

Let’s examine the effects of the Moon’s magnetic pull upon humanity. In astrology, the Moon’s influence is taken seriously for it affects the subconscious mind. The moon is not only the most visible planet it is also the closest to the Earth. The Moon affects all liquids, she controls the tides and all fluids and since the human body contains over 70 % fluid, why shouldn’t the Moon’s gravitational pull affect us? As the tides rise and fall, humanity experiences these tidal changes as feelings and moods. Changes of emotional tides within humanity are called cycles of emotions. Remember the saying It’s an up-and-down world. Knowing emotional lunar levels can prepare us and help us overcome the hardest of times.

Astrology being a true study of natural phenomena, its vast and accurate view points helps us to express a natural and coexisting life in nature. Nature and natural are one in the same word. On a personal and even global level the benefits and uses for this ancient knowledge are truly universal and can easily elevate the consciousness of every person on this planet. By understanding the true nature of others and ourselves, we can form lasting relationships and exhibit natural respect for each other. Any subject this large could naturally take many years to comprehend. However, as modern day astrologers, we are blessed with tools that ancient astrologers could not even dream about. What might take 10 years to comprehend in the past could be learned in a few short months. Therefore, the time is now for the people of the world to harness this liberating knowledge and use it to elevate the consciousness of humanity. As a modern day astrologer, I must agree that astrology of old is more truthful concerning some matters. But the potential of modern day astrology has the technology to verify the countless truths that are contained within the subject.

Through mental awareness of symbolic knowledge, we accumulate spiritual consciousness that elevates the soul. These laws provide opportunities to rise above common material illusions of life; thus, we spiritually interpret natural human reactions and desires. We do not change universal law or hold nature in obedience and at our beck and call. However, by a thorough study of astrology we can improve manifested response to universal law by improving conscious thinking, speech, habits, and actions. Astrology can show us when certain planetary influences are present and what to expect. Our spiritual evolution determines what extent these influences will manifest.

Astrology is one of the most important studies we can undertake; its precepts should be investigated and taught in every school of life. The philosophy of astrology and all metaphysical knowledge should be restored to its original level of truth and beauty so the world may gain a true perspective of divine plan, as expressed throughout the wisdom of the ages and recorded in symbolism and numbers. Astrology and numerology are two of the purest presentations of spiritual truth in the world today. This ancient philosophy deals with governing vibrations and motivating forces that play through and upon the whole field of space and all manifestations within that field.

When this knowledge is grasped and all sources of these influential energies are comprehended, humanity will experience a clear meaning for their creation. When relationships between planetary vibrations, systematic cycles, and cosmic entities are understood, we shall start to live scientifically and progressively. We’ll then experience the age of man, or Aquarius, that the Master Jesus spoke of: In the age of man ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.

The objective of this metaphysical textbook is too simply present the subject of astrology in a manner that reveals its valuable truths. Our goal is to share knowledge contained within this vast symbolic philosophy, so that the many truths can take a useful, prominent, and active part in assisting those participating in the New Age movement; thus assuring greater advancements toward individual excellence. This knowledge will surely aid humanity in the future by developing, expanding, and uplifting human consciousness spiritually, mentally, and physically.

We are free according to our wisdom, and we are ‘fated’ in proportion to our lack of understanding."

    — Llewellyn George

    Out Of The Vast

There’s a part of the sun in the apple,

    There’s a part of the moon in a rose;

There’s a part of the flaming Pleiades

    In every leaf that grows.

    Out of the vast comes nearness;

For the God whose love we sing

Lends a little of his heaven

    To every living thing.

    — Augustus Bamberger

    BRANCHES OFASTROLOGY

    Natal Astrology

An astrologer constructs a chart for the date, time, and place when a person was born. A natal chart or birth chart gives one the knowledge of character, temperament, mental tendencies, physical attributes, the soul’s purpose or destiny, and much more. Note: Natal astrology should be studied and mastered before beginning any study of the other branches of astrology. In addition to natal astrology, there are four other branches.

    Medical Astrology

Becoming popular with physicians and surgeons beginning to understand its potential to help humanity. Medical astrology was greatly practiced by the ancient Greeks and other medically inclined countries. Their understanding of the cycles allowed them to reach the height of healing.

    Astro Meteorology

Used to predict the weather, the new age astrological meteorologist has many tools to work with. I feel it is just a matter of time until certain astrologers will crack the weather patterns. They will be able to predict the weather with uncanny abilities. When the computers of today are linked to the cycles of planetary positions the result will be rewarding to all the peoples of the earth. I would also venture to say that all natural disasters could be predicted as well.

    Judicial Astrology

Used to protect and guide a country and/or its government. If all the countries could use astrology to pick their leaders, the world would know greatness never dreamed of before. No knowledge on Earth could help someone choose a leader for the people of a country better. This information would also help governments of the world to interact with each other in peace and understanding.

    Horay Astrology

Used to gather ideas relating to particular places and dates that answer particular questions. Some say this form of astrology is linked to fortune telling. However, this is far from the truth. After 30 years of observing the subject, I have come to believe that every place, time, and person manifests a specific energy signature. If the nature of the Horay astrologer is spiritual, much positive information will be recognized and translated.

Together with natal astrology, these comprise the five main branches of this science-philosophy and must be studied and reflected in truth and honesty. Astrology is as ancient as the first beings that created humanity. It contains spiritual interpretations of nature for the past, present, and — most important — future. Firsthand knowledge of positive aspects will help create a new enlightened future. Remember though, like everything else, there are both positive and negative astrologers. Take care in choosing to whom you give your birth data.

    ASTROLOGY

    THE CLOCK OF DESTINY

Many have said that our destiny is written in the stars and it is true. Since time began, humanity has looked to the heavens for answers. When we chose to come to Earth we became subject to influences of the planets and asteroids. We became physical-spiritual beings from the time we drew our first breath. Each individual soul possesses a singular purpose and each of us possesses spiritual gifts to manifest in our lifetime. As each cycle of our annual calendar transpires, we take on whole new sets of feelings, emotions, and thoughts.

When people take the first step towards a true study of this philosophy, they begin an inquiry concerning the spiritual principles of life. The awakening soul is prompted to search deep within themselves to find spiritual answers to age-old questions like, Who am I? Why am I here? What have I come to this Earth for? Why are some people born poor, others rich, some weak, others strong? The enlightened soul rises above the material illusions that can seem mirrored on every side. The opened mind then goes in search of the answers to these important questions.

The soul in search of universal truth can always find comfort in various ways, sometimes in philosophy, symbolism or spiritually motivated religion, but no answer comes that entirely satisfies, for the simple reason that the true answers must eventually come from within ourselves. When the sincere student is ready the spirit teacher is always there, this is universal law. The soul of every human being is immortal; it is a part of the eternal Logos who is the spiritual essence of all manifested life. This eternal entity is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. Each soul manifested begins a pilgrimage at birth; this is human destiny. Eventually each soul will become a fully self-conscious individual. As Dr. Walter Russell once said, All souls will someday return to their creator, until then theirs is the agony of waiting.

Astrology charts provide the blue print that reveals spiritual potentials within us. Our present stage of evolution is determined after many lives spent in various physical bodies, sowing and reaping for the purpose of experience and evolution. Futuristic souls possessing knowledge of astrology and symbolism, will help to mold a future that will create higher standards of judgment; thus creating a whole new set of constructive circumstances. This knowledge will guide and direct future generations to a higher state of evolution that will rise above the physical matter in which humanity has entrapped itself. By using various vehicles we have acquired, humanity will know freedoms and accomplishments never thought possible. Consciously and with set purpose, humanity may eventually transmute all external forces thus uniting with The One Trine God. Spirit may use these kindred souls for future development in the grand scheme of God’s evolution.

Our destiny lies within the soul and its upward journey toward self-perfection and reunification with our creator. When we possess powers like unto the Father in Heaven who sent it forth; then the soul will be opened wide to the powers of Spirit. We will be likened unto the Trinity that is all-wise, all-powerful and all-loving.

Each reincarnation marks a step in that glorious evolution towards true spiritual freedom. If the fact of reincarnation should be doubted, the following question should be asked: Is it not reasonable to believe, a soul requires many Earth lives, in order to learn all the lessons that are needed to become a well rounded being? No person who has ever carefully pondered the matter of reincarnation could deny the fact that all we possess could not be obtained in just one short life.

How many times do we see young children who possess talent to play a musical instrument or sing like they have done it for hundreds of years? In no other system of thought is this problem so reasonably answered as in that known under the title of astrology. The Sun, Moon, and planets are symbols conveying ideas to those minds able to appreciate what they mean. The symbols connected with astrology constitute the most simple and beautiful imagery of life we can perceive. These symbols have been preserved messages of life from the very beginning of our solar system. These symbols bear the truth of humanity’s past, present and their future.

The Sun is the body of energy that governs the solar system therefore it is the symbol of life and light and is the actual source of all vitality, heat, and motion. The planets are the reflections of the creative spirits before the throne of power, they are God’s messengers and the agents who carry out His will. The zodiac is the medium through which vibrating energies are transmitted. The vibrations coming from the Sun are reflected and modulated by the planets.

Astrologers create charts called horoscopes, which map the positions of astronomical bodies at certain times, such as when a person is born, or to a certain event. A circle called the ecliptic illustrates planet positions used in the horoscope. The ecliptic is the plane on which the Earth orbits around the Sun in a year. It is divided into twelve sections, called the signs of the zodiac, which include Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. Astrologers assign every planet (which in astrology includes the Sun and Moon) with a particular sign, depending on where that planet appears on the ecliptic at the time for which the horoscope is cast.

Each planet represents basic human drives, and each sign represents a set of human characteristics. When astrologers designate a person as a certain sign say Leo or Pisces, they are referring to the person’s sun sign that is the sign that the Sun occupied at the time of the person’s birth. The horoscope is divided into twelve houses, which make up the 24-hour period during which the Earth rotates once on its axis. Each house deals with certain areas of a person’s life, such as marriage, health, intelligence, personality, work, travel, talent, etc. Astrologers make predictions by interpreting the position of astronomical bodies within the signs and houses of the horoscope.

Most scientists and astronomers would have every one believe that there is no validity to the subject of astrology. It seems almost impossible to convert an astronomer into an astrologer. Little do they know that astrology is the grandfather of astronomy and of all sciences because it was the first science. A true scientist is one who possesses the mental-spiritual faculties which enable them to appreciate truth where ever found but many scientists would have you believe that spirituality is non- existent. Perhaps it is for this reason that most wish to turn everything possible into a weapon of destruction. The scientific theory is if something cannot be measured, seen or weighed it cannot exist. If the mind seeks only concrete proof, they become limited to the material world, therefore not seeing the whole picture. Anyone, who could believe that our world and universe was created without direction or purpose, possesses very little insight and should never be trusted.

The real difference between an astronomer and astrologer mainly is that the astronomer studies the external state of things and the astrologer pays more attention to the internal conditions. The new age astrologer will have to be unbiased and possess well-developed reasoning, coupled with clear perception and a good memory. When these qualities are developed one can consider themselves to be a competent astrologer. The very word astrology demands that one will need these proper requirements, for the word astrology means to reason with the stars. Astro means star, Logos meaning logic. To become a master astrologer one must be prepared to take a far wider view of life. They must supersede that which is of custom and set aside the personal opinions of others. Only those awakening to their true responsibilities in life are likely to become interested in truth principals revealed by the philosophy of astrology.

In the 30 years we have been associated with astrology, we’ve used this knowledge to communicate with hundreds of thousands of people on a spiritual plane. No matter where we travel in the world, we found this knowledge to hold true to everyone we communicated with. It is our hope to promote great interest among people, who are sincere about elevating and liberating the consciousness of all humanity. If we know we grow, if we grow we glow. As our Master Jesus once said, I am the light and the way.

    WHAT IS THE ZODIAC?

To describe the zodiac one must use imagination. Envision the zodiac as a 15-degree belt of space, or imaginary circle surrounding the Earth, this belt of space is the apparent path that the planets transit. There are 12 constellations in the fixed stars of our solar system, these 12 signs are directly associated with the twelve zodiac signs and the 12 Earth houses contained within the natal chart. The magnetic pull of the Suns annual transit through each sign of the zodiac constellations, causes the seasons to change and directly determines every aspect of what we call time. Due to the Earth’s orbital rotations, it causes the Sun to appear like it’s orbiting our Earth approximately every 24-1/4 hours. Due to the orbit and rotational speed of Earth, the Suns appears to be orbiting around us; in reality the Sun is stationary and many believe that it is the only stationary object in our solar system.

The annual motion or orbit of the Earth around the Sun causes the Sun to appear as if it is passing through one of the twelve zodiac signs each month. The Sun’s influence, according to location, determines not only the seasons, but also the general soul nature and character of all living things within our solar system. The Sun changes zodiac signs every 30 days or degrees as it passes from Aries to Pisces each solar year. The twelve main zodiac energies are exhibited in the actions of the twelve sun signs which are: Aries The Ram, Taurus The Bull, Gemini The Twins, Cancer The Crab, Leo The Lion, Virgo The Virgin, Libra The Scales, Scorpio The Scorpion, Sagittarius The Archer, Capricorn The Goat, Aquarius The Water Bearer and Pisces The connected Fishes. The planet’s transit from west to east through the zodiac; they may take 2 days or 12 years to transit a zodiac sign, this depends on their orbital distance from the Sun. The amount of solar time it takes a planet to transit a zodiac sign will depend on how far it is from the zodiac, how many times it retrogrades or goes stationary and the speed it travels.

Although the zodiac is referred to as a circle, it is in fact ecliptic, meaning each sun sign division possesses specific influences, or expressions of its own. There are 6 masculine positive and 6 negative feminine signs. There are three Fire, Air, Earth and Water signs. These 12 signs indicate the seasonal changes on planet Earth. In the western hemisphere, the three signs of spring are Aries, Taurus and Gemini. The three signs of summer are Cancer, Leo and Virgo. The three signs of fall are Libra, Scorpio and Sagittarius. And the three winter signs are Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces.

This zodiacal circle is divided into twelve equal parts. Each part consists of 30 degrees of space and two hours of time. Thus, each Sun sign occupies one twelfth of the zodiac circle and contains 30 degrees of celestial longitude. Twelve times 30 degrees constitute a complete circle of the zodiac or 360˚ of space. In this circle, each planet travels in its separate orbit around the Sun each one lying beyond the other. Even though the Earth may travel outside the sphere of the zodiac, the Suns effect is still felt for it is still transiting the zodiac signs. The solar vibration it sets off at the time will affect every planet in the solar system. Although astronomers consider the Sun to be a star and the Moon to be a satellite, astrologers consider them planets because of their circular shape.

As the planets transit each sign of the zodiac, they set off corresponding vibrations of the sign and planet or planets involved. Example: If Jupiter was transiting the sign Sagittarius it would be at home in its corresponding sun sign Sagittarius, both are fire vibrations. However, if Jupiter were transiting the earth sign Capricorn, it would be considered in its fall, or limited to its normal vibration. In the fiery sign of Sagittarius, the fire planet Jupiter could expand, however when placed in the cardinal earth sign Capricorn, its expansive energies would be contracted and somewhat limited. As we study the signs and energies they produce, we learn to compare and evaluate what is harmonious and what is frictional. This is how astrology works; it is a science of comparison. A famous astrologer Llewellyn George once said, The planets impel but they do not compel. Many planetary transits resemble drops of water on a big rock; they may take long periods of time for their vibrations to be recognized. However, other planetary transits in a zodiac sign can set off extreme friction at incredible rates of speed, which may even cause wars and rebellions when not recognized.

The vibrations of the Sun and other planets cause mental and emotional signatures on the human race. The planets orbit around the Sun, and the Sun is the center of our solar system. The Sun in astrology is said to be the giver of life and the Moon is said to be the receiver. Planetary vibrations profoundly affect every person, animal and plant. Any farmer or fisherman who does not use solar and lunar tables to guide them will not be very successful. Some planet transits are so harmonious they are hardly ever noticed. The longer a planet stays in a zodiac sign, the longer its effect will last on the consciousness of humanity. The vibrations that are set off by the planets when they transit the zodiac are woven into every atom and thought on this planet.

Early astrologers determined the width of the zodiac, so they could track the annual motion of the five visible planets. These planets were assigned to all twelve-sun signs at the time, because the other planets could not yet be seen. When telescopes were invented and more planets were found and observed by astrologers, a truer picture of planetary vibrations began to develop and astrology became a more precise study. Today we have the Hubbell telescope and space probes that give us a wider and much clearer view of our solar system. We can associate each planet with the zodiac sign and corresponding sun sign if you examine the chart titled Qualities of Signs and Planets.

The modern day astrologer has a magnitude of tools to work with. When we teach astrology we try to make an impression on our students to see all of the energies of the three factors involved in understanding a natal chart which are, the planets, sun signs and the earth houses. Example: The Sun, Leo and the fifth earth house are related. We teach that the planet is the spiritual manifestation, the zodiac sign is the mental manifestation of the Sun, and the fifth earth house is the physical manifestation of the Sun and Leo vibration.

It’s a wonderful experience to share and cooperate with nature and to understand your fellow man. That is a pure form of universal consciousness and allows us to love and understand all our brothers and sisters. This ancient knowledge helps us to understand the forces of nature and to love all creation.

WHAT IS A HOROSCOPE OR NATAL CHART?

A horoscope or natal chart is a circular diagram of the heavens. It is erected to coincide with a specific time and date on any given day and year. The astrologer calculates the time of birth, or event and uses an ephemeris that shows the planets precise position in the zodiac at that time. As the Earth rotates on its axis a different sign appears on the eastern horizon every two hours, this position is called the ascendant. When this position is properly calculated the astrologer can then deline the chart and put the proper zodiac signs in the proper earth houses. When this is completed, the astrologer can then place the planets in the degrees of the sign and the house that the planets were in at the time of birth.

The Planetary Ephemeris Program, developed in 1961 at the Lincoln Laboratory in Lexington, Massachusetts was developed to aid navigational requirements by using the fixed stars in the heavens to calculate distance, time and position. It also coincides with the Greenwich Mean Time system, it is one of the most advanced astronomical almanacs, or ephemeris ever created. It has also been a heaven sent to all astrologers, for it allowed astrologers to cast much more accurate horoscopes. With the new computers and telescopes of today, they can track the planets with incredible accuracy. The first ephemeris was created around 1750 and can now be computer calculated to any time in the future. It is interesting to note that the planets can be charted not only in position but distance from to Sun. The planets transits can be calculated within one hundredth of a degree at any give time for the next 500 years. Nothing as we know it moves with that kind of precision. After 500 years of almanac evolution, perhaps a modern almanac such as this is the ultimate calendar of the heavens.

The construction of the horoscope is usually based on the Ptolemaic system in which the earth is stationary and the heavenly bodies move around it in fixed patterns. Astrologers have divided the heavens into 12 sections, each thought to be governed by a different sign of the zodiac belt through which the Sun, Moon, and planets move in 12 fixed positions called houses. Once the particular signs and houses have been established, the vibrational characteristics of the heavenly bodies are compared to the geometrical relationship, or angular placement in the natal chart. This information is then used to foretell events as related energies coincide with each other. When understood, these symbolic biorhythm patterns reveal much insight into the life of the individual for whom the horoscope has been drawn. The horoscope is the most valuable information we can hope to possess, the information contained within it is revealing and informative to anyone on the path of spirituality. The horoscope contains information about all of the natural gifts and unseen difficulties that we were born with. You might say it is the blueprint of the soul and our map of the future. Information gained from the horoscope, combined with a person’s heritage and place of birth, can open many doors of enlightenment and insight to why we are, the way we were born to be. This information can also provide us with knowledge that can improve every facet of life imaginable. Armed with this knowledge we can lead happier more productive lives and avoid many of the unseen pit falls of the material world.

    WHAT IS THE ASCENDANT?

You may have heard astrologers ask, What is your ascendant or rising sign? The ascendant is always taken seriously in astrology. The three major aspects that are first considered by the astrologer are:

    1. The sun sign: That part of the chart that influences the soul, or the conscious mind. The sun sign is most evident in the daytime, or between 6 A.M. and 6 P.M. The element of the conscious mind, is that energy we use when we are awake, or in a conscious state.

    2. The moon sign: influences the subconscious mind. These energies are like our memory banks for the brain. The sub-conscious helps us remember all that we encounter through experience or memory. The moon sign also influences the way we feel and has a great deal to do with the emotional body.

    3. The ascendant or physical self deals more with the material body. The ascendant even governs the facial appearance of the individual. It also represents the image we project to others and ourselves. It is the sign of the personality.

The way the ascendant is found by an astrologer is to deline a person’s natal chart, or as some astrologers refer to as casting a horoscope. Imagine the circle of the zodiac around the Earth. As the Earth orbits clockwise, it causes a different zodiac sign to appear every two hours on the eastern horizon. The sign on the eastern horizon at the time of birth is known as the ascendant or rising sign. The astrologer finds this information by calculating the time and place of birth, by using what is known as an ephemeris, a book that shows the planet positions. The planet positions are then added to the delined chart. This gives the picture of what the heavens looks like at the time of birth from the planet Earth.

One important factor to consider when analyzing the ascendant is the nature of the sign or signs involved. Example: if the sign of Scorpio was covering 1/8 of the ascendant and the rest is Sagittarius, then the ascendant would be Sagittarius, with a Scorpio overtone. If Scorpio covered 1/2 of the first house, the ascendant is mainly Scorpio. Again knowing the nature and power of the signs is important when considering any aspect of the natal chart. Other things to consider is if the sign is cardinal, fixed or changeable; or if it is fire, air, water, or earth.

Another important factor to consider is if any planets are in the first house, and if so the nature of those planets. The nature of the ascendant will also tell how the personality will affect the sun and moon sign. When we know the ascendant, we can better prepare ourselves in our dealings with others. One way to get a good idea about what our personality will be like is to study the sun signs in this book. Example: if your ascendant is Aries then study the characteristics of Aries and Pluto, but remember this is more your personality, not the soul nature.

The beauty of Astrology is that when the ascendant and the placement of our other aspects are found, and understood we can then deal with the real issues of who and what we are to nature. We can then manipulate and manifest a truer and more spiritual self, or sense of being. The only way we can help ourselves and others is by understanding what is natural to us and those around us.

Planets in the first house will find new life and expression. The only three planets I feel will cause some problems are Neptune -deception, Saturn - depression, and Mars - aggression. As we study and learn the effects of astrological aspects, we find that all aspects can be manipulated to our own benefit.

    WHAT IS A DESCENDANT?

Many astrologers speak of an ascendant in a natal chart, but few of us ever took the descendant seriously. The majority of astrologers I’ve met concentrate mainly on the sun sign, ascendant, and the moon sign. This is practical because the sun sign shows a person’s soul nature, and the ascendant shows a person’s mental personality, and the moon sign shows a person’s subconscious storehouse of creative abilities.

The descendant, however, is a subject that seems to be completely ignored. The ascendant is the sign of the zodiac that was rising on the eastern horizon when a person drew their first breath of life, air, or Holy Spirit. The descendant is the sign of the zodiac that was on the western horizon; therefore, it is the complementary opposite of the ascendant.

We know the ascendant is also the first house of new beginnings and new life. In the natal chart, it represents the planetary positions that will be most active in the first half of life. In the natal chart, it represents the planetary positions that will be most active in the first half of life. The left half of the chart is ascending and ranges from the houses Gemini to Capricorn, or houses 3, 2 1, 12, 11 and 10. The planetary aspects of these house positions will be used greatly in the first half of life.

The descendant houses are house numbers 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, and 4. They range from Sagittarius to Cancer. The planetary positions of these houses will be greatly magnified in the last half of the life span. Planets in these house positions also exhibit refinement and higher states of conscious expression.

It appears that the more we examine the effects and characteristics of just the natal chart it becomes obvious we still have a great deal to learn about the enormous science of astrology. The aspects of each chart can be analyzed by competent astrologers but only through self-analysis of our own charts will we ever understand our true spiritual nature and universal potentials.

    THE AQUARIAN AGE

IT IS HERE AND IT IS NOW

During the 20th century there has been much speculation about what the Age of Aquarius will bring and how it will affect humanity. The advanced thought of this age is now a reality within the human consciousness. The age of the Water Bearer will see the advance guard of truth, peace and brotherhood manifest within everyone. Many of the mysteries of life and the universe will become clear and pronounced. For those advanced souls who possess an inborn love for truth, justice, and equality, subjects like astrology, numerology, spiritualism, metaphysics, and spiritual science will truly manifest. All of the ologies and isems are associated with the new age sign Aquarius. When scientists are spiritually motivated, instead of militarily motivated the inventions of science will then progress humanity to its highest potential ever.

The word Aquarius is derived from the Latin word aqua, meaning water. Aquarius is however an air sign and the water bearer, it is the 11th sign and house of the zodiac. It’s depicted as a woman carrying in her right hand a pitcher of water. The water symbolizes new consciousness, and it is the mind stuff that spirituality is derived from. As she pours out the new waters of life upon the seas, the air generated through the water becomes a reality to the awakened soul. The Aquarian Age is the age of enlightenment and the spiritual side of the great teachings many
