About this ebook

A teenage girl develops a drug habit and is forced to leave home. She moves into an apartment in the city but struggles to make a living as she nurses her habit and develops depression. Alaric Cabiling

Author Alaric Cabiling's influences as a writer range from Gothic fiction writers, Edgar Allan Poe, and Mary Shelley, to modern-day dark fantasy writers, Ray Bradbury, and Harlan Ellison. Cabiling's first body of work, The Darkest Day, was published in 2009 by Praenomen Press of Richmond, Virginia, introducing him to avid fans of bleak, lyrical poetry. Cabiling's debut collection of short stories, Insanity By Increments, was independently-released to critical acclaim in 2015, paving the way for successful future short story collections. 2016 saw the hotly-anticipated release of his second collection of short stories, Redefining Darkness. In 2019, The Claws of Perdition seeks to build on the excitement of Cabiling's first two collections with one that climaxes in incendiary savagery and violence. Cabiling plans to publish contemporary horror collections in the future, not to mention a collection of contemporary fiction for fans of mainstream literature. In his spare time, Cabiling enjoys music, arts, and culture. He is also a big electronics buff and tech geek. He lives and writes in Manila, Philippines.
