About this ebook
As a child, Tim learned early on to get attention from classmates in school, by making fun of other people’s differences. But after hearing the story of his Great-Grandfather’s immigration from Europe many decades before, Tim realized that his bad-habit of stereotyping, had to stop! By learning to open up his heart, he became sensitive to the many unique and wonderful differences in people. Tim’s embrace of Native American culture, and of one belief in particular, gave him guidance during his “school-age” years.
Indian style uses touching anecdotal stories from the author’s childhood to captivate young readers.
James P. Wortmann
James Wortmann grew up in the San Fernando valley in Los Angeles during the 1970's. He remembers a time when kids raced to find baseballs hit into cornfields that surrounded his little league baseball park. Redeemable for a snow-cone, those balls were treasured dearly. James has a well-rounded education in Liberal Arts. He has studied at colleges in Los Angeles, California and in Portland, Oregon. Portland is where he makes his home. The passion found in his stories is a reflection of his love for human-kind!Like everyone, James' personal history helped shape him into the person he is today. Experiences, such as being critically injured in an auto accident, or riding thousands of miles throughout North America and Europe on his bicycle, have equipped him with a unique perspective. With more than thirty years of working effectively in schools, James Wortmann has a strong personal stake in guiding the lives of young people.
