But! But! You were dead. You had a tracker. How? Jinsar stammered, shaking his head, rolls of fat wobbling with the effort.

Maybe you’re dead too and this is hell. Well, I can promise it will be for one of us if you don’t cooperate, Breyden threatened, pacing around the cell in front of Jinsar.

What makes you think I’m going to help you? Jinsar attempted to sound defiant.

Breyden, I’ve brought the item you wanted, Jonas called, approaching the cell. He stepped inside and dropped a battle axe on the floor. Do you need anything else?

You! Jinsar gasped at the sight of Jonas. You were dead too.

Still thinks he’s alive, I see, Jonas chuckled. Did you tell him where he is?

Yes, but he doesn’t seem to believe it, Breyden said.

"We are most certainly not dead, Jinsar protested. And if you think you’re going to scare me into helping you, you’ve got another thing coming."

So, how are we going to do this? Jonas asked, as if he and Breyden were the only two in the room.

Well, until he tells me where I can find James, we’re going to do exactly what they did to James. Did you also bring the gun? Breyden asked.

Sure did. Do you want it now? Jonas pulled a 9mm out of the back of his pants and passed it to Breyden.

Thanks. Breyden took the pistol, pointed it at Jinsar’s leg and pulled the trigger. The shot echoed in the room for a brief moment.

Jinsar screamed over and over for several minutes, only pausing to gasp for air. Breyden and Jonas didn’t say a word until Jinsar’s voice faded to just heavy breathing through clenched teeth.

    What now? Jonas asked.

We take the leg off with the axe, Breyden stated, eyeing Jinsar, whose fat jiggled with tremors of fear and pain.

We could tie his hands to the bars and isolate the leg, Jonas suggested.

That works for me, Breyden agreed, walking around Jinsar to untie him from the chair.

All right! All right, I’ll tell you where your friend is, but you can’t help him. Jinsar sneered with a wicked grin like he was getting some satisfaction.

"Leave it up to us whether we can help him or not. You just better hope nothing worse has happened to him or else worse things are going to happen to you, Breyden promised. In fact, you better be willing to cough up all the information we want. The rest of your life doesn’t have to be one of misery, but it can be. I don’t want to be like the People’s Government, but I will play your game to defeat you."

Your friend is on Centalpha 6, Jinsar blurted out like he had dealt them a harsh blow. There is a prison there. So, how are you going to penetrate the most heavily guarded planet in the galaxy?

We will take care of it, Breyden said.

Now we get to see if your theory is correct, Jonas smiled.

Let’s get the doc down here to fix him up, Breyden ordered, then turning back to Jinsar, Don’t get too comfortable. Others will come to question you. I suggest you be very cooperative. If you don’t think I still want to cut off your leg, you’re wrong. If anything else has happened to James, more than your leg might come off.

I think I found it. Shaun leaned over a table with several others in an elaborate dirt-carved room in the Gleaners’ kingdom. He tapped his finger on a section of a large printout showing a planet. Information on this planet was extremely hard to find, and what I could find was very difficult to get. I thought their security was tight around other areas, but this hack wouldn’t have succeeded without the help from a couple guys we’ve picked up along the way.

What are we looking at here? Sampson eyed the spot Shaun indicated.

As far as we can tell, this is the location of the prison, Shaun responded. I wish I could give you better information, but I just don’t have it. There are only a couple of settlements on Centalpha 6. It doesn’t appear to be a very hospitable planet. From what information we were able to retrieve, the prison is rather extensive.

    How extensive? Breyden asked.

Over ten thousand. It is basically a slave city. The prisoners are used to mine the ore. Ore we would love to get our hands on, Shaun stated.

The material used to create the chips, Bob added with a smile.

What are the other settlements? Dis asked.

The others appear to be military outposts. I figure they bring in supplies and ship out the ore. They are relatively small. There is one city that might be more important to us than the prison. A processing center. We know the ore is used to create the chips… Shaun started.

But we don’t know how the chips are created? Sampson stood up straight, eyeing the others.

So, we have several reasons for going to Centalpha 6, Breyden said.

There are no guards at this prison, Bob grumbled.

There were no guards at my prison, Dis stated. And there is one thing I know about this little adventure that you do not.

    What’s that? Breyden questioned.

We have inside information. There is an individual who has been to that prison and you know him, Dis continued.

    The blind man, Breyden muttered.

    Yes. Dis nodded.

How did he get out? Breyden asked.

He didn’t escape. He was removed. He ruled that place. The People’s Government feared he had become too powerful. They didn’t want anything to interrupt the production of the deposits. Not only has he been inside the prison, but he has walked the plant’s surface, Dis stated.

    Get him, Breyden said.

You might be able to help someone else regain their kingdom. Dis signaled a Gleaner standing guard at the open archway. The guard hurried to Dis’s side. Bring the blind man.

What is his name anyway? Kreek asked.

I’m not sure. He’s never said. He only had a number, sixteen-thirty-two, so we just called him the blind man, Dis responded.

Why would anyone want to return to the worst prison in the universe? Sampson asked.

I’m sure he has his reasons, Dis stated.

Even if he doesn’t want to go back, he could provide us with valuable information. Breyden looked at everyone present. "He will know the layout and the hierarchy in place. That might enable him to make a good guess where we can find James. He will know what size
