WOW! This is my first book and, honestly, I thought it was going to be easy. Put a few words on paper and sell them. This is not the case! I started working on a book back in September, 2000 and, although I had some interested input from a friend, I never really went back to this particular story. It was a combination of fiction and real life experience all rolled into characters that I had never met. It was meant for adult consumption (not an erotica novel though) and now that I have completed and uploaded my children's novel, I want to revisit the first one. (now what did I do with that file?!)The Magic White Whale was actually written for an assignment in school and, because I had no intentions of taking it further, wrote the main theme in one weekend just to get the assignment done and over with. Once I shared it with my class, they all agreed that I should get this published. So I added two chapters to the beginning and expanded more in the end. Now it is available for you to read.I have been dabbling in many forms of art (mainly photography and graphic design) but I have never made it to the big league. I dont suspect this book will allow me to quit my job in retail however it would be a great feeling to know that my four years of hard work will actually pay off.Thank you for clicking on my book.

Chapter 1: THE TWO GIRLS
And so it begins. A little girl with a dazzling imagination has come awake.
Her name was Delores. She was an energetic, bright-eyed girl with a fiery temper. She had a long, dark ponytail that reached all the way to the middle of her back and when it whipped around it somehow made her feel so much taller. When her mom left her hair out of the ponytail she still felt tall but also she imagined herself being a movie star about to be hunted down by those magazine photographers you see on TV.
Delores! What will you work on now that your movie is a blockbuster hit?
Delores! How do you keep your hair so beautiful?
Delores! Can you give me fashion tips?
Delores! Your brother is so lucky to work for you.
All the photographers were pushing and shoving each other trying to get closer to Delores as the crowds of people gathered screaming for autographs. When Delores flipped her hair over her shoulder that was draped in a puffy white fake fur stole, everyone cheered for her to do it again. Delores imagined that her hair was down to her knees and everyone wanted to touch it. Arms and hands jutted out of the mob trying to get closer and struggling to get a better glimpse of the most popular girl in the world. Her hair shimmered in the sunlight and twinkled from the flashes whenever a picture was taken. She really was the most popular girl in the entire world, or so she imagined.
Delores did have one good friend, Samantha. Samantha lived next door and they would spend as much time together as they could. The fence that separated the two back yards had a loose board and they thought of it as their own personal gateway that only they knew about; it was a secret gate. They had a password and only those that believed in magic were allowed to know it; if you didn’t believe in it then you couldn’t go through the door.
Samantha didn’t have many friends either. She didn’t know why, really, because she was the quiet one and never fought back when the mean kids picked on her and Delores. She didn’t need to say anything because Delores did all the fighting they needed. Sometimes her fiery temper would get them picked on even more.
Stop being stupid heads!
Delores would scream at the mean kids. That would make the bullies laugh even harder.
No one says ‘stupid head’ anymore you nerd!
they would laugh. Get with the times already.
Then the chants from the crowd, stupid head, stupid head, stupid head
, over and over again, brought out almost the entire third and fourth grades to join in. It could be heard all over the school playground. The only way the girls could escape the ambush was to run as fast as they could after the school bell rang for everyone to go home. Out the door and across the playground, they bolted like lightning with so many kids chasing
