About this ebook
"Why not let me hear you say a last goodbye? How could you, you selfish, fucking dick?"
HE'S DONE, AND NOW IT'S HER TURN TO PERFORM A MIRACLE
Alice finally finds out what Ralph's been doing, and now Ralph's in the hospital and about to be cut loose. He is declared brain dead, and his mother is just waiting for Alice to finally let go.
But Alice is not about to do that. As angry as she is, she is not letting Ralph get away with it. As long as there is life still in his body, she will fight for him. She is not going to let him lay in that mausoleum. She will have him home, in their bed, breathing and living. And no one's going to stop her.
There is an additional miracle worker in the family.
Steph isn't just there because her son needs her. In fact, Ralph does not need her anymore. She was called because Alice needed her. And Steph's own gift isn't about healing the dying... it's about ensuring that a new life is born. And in Alice, she can see the aura of what she had once thought Ralph to be...

EXCERPT
"The women in our family, all, have healing hands. We can read people’s energies and know how exactly to help them. They’re not limitless, our abilities; so, you can hold off on any jokes on that front. We also develop our own particular specializations."
Alice swallowed, slowly, trying not to gulp, like cartoon characters do when in an odd, odd situation. No wonder Ralph never spoke of the mysterious “Steph.”
"My mother was good with wounds; healing them. As long as it's just the flesh, she can mend it. Her mother, my grandma was a known bonesetter, as long as it was within the hour, she was able to set the bones back; clean, usually.” Alice watched Steph scrunch her nose. “...my sister is good with body pains accompanied with fevers. And we all have uncanny hunches that come to us, bright and clear, like fireworks in our minds. One moment we don’t know. We mentally ask a question, and then the answer’s just there. Sometimes, the answer’s there, a feeling, a knowing, before we think a question. That's how I’ve known a long while that my son will die, or might try and die alone."
Abruptly, Alice recalled how Ralph reacted anytime she’d speak of healers, like that time on television, that rainy day in the hotel abroad, although she’d felt for a while that he might have something like that power; so, Alice steered the conversation to another direction.
"What about men in your family? Anyone with the same skills? With ‘healing hands’?"
"They told us our great-grandfather on my mama’s side could read minds, clear as a bell, under some conditions; but, I don't have anything except the stories of my mother and grandparents. Well, not until Ralph came."
Alice froze, and felt ... and felt...

The moment Sandra Ross held her first romance novel when she was ten, she knew she was going to write romance. At thirty now, a prolific reader and a freelance writer, she's since then expanded her preferences from just romance to romance with a dash of now trending sub-genres—paranormal , fantasy, sci-fi even, and erotica. She loves challenging herself and would write on a dare. On a normal day, she would be found in her herb garden collecting spices for her kitchen or ingredients for her potions; in her huge eclectic Provencal kitchen with the big modern oven cooking pots and pans of food for her family of one husband and three kids (an ardent daughter and two boisterous sons) that'll probably last for weeks; in her library with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and an e-reader in her hands as she reads the latest erotic hit; or scribbling pages upon pages of different erotic lifestyles, searching for the one that feels like it was inspired by just the right mix of passion, story line, and sex. Aside from these activities, the rest of the time she'd be found in front of her laptop typing the latest Sandra Ross concoction for her readers.

Chapter One
ALICE NEVER REMEMBER actually calling for emergency assistance as she took his shoulders and hoisted him back up into his sitting position. She was crying torrents. He was heavy, swaying back and forth, as Alice struggled to get him in place.
Anguish gripped her and did not let go. Everything faded into the background except Ralph's body now propped again against the headboard, with her holding him there, as she furiously pounded on his chest with her free arm.
Wake up, you son-of-a-bitch!
But the limp vessel that was her boyfriend did not respond. You... have... accomplished your... prank! Wake up!
At the back of her mind she knew, but her heart was stubbornly optimistic.
P-Please...!
she sobbed. Please... this is not funny. THIS IS NOT FUCKING FUNNY! WAKE THE FUCK UP!
She kept pleading with him.
I'm better now! I'm healthy. So you can't... leave me! Not now! Please!
Her pleading turned to inarticulate, wordless screaming. Her screams turned into full-blown wailing. The only thing that existed was pain. Her heart was chalk being ground into the pavement by a heavy steel-toed boot.
Alice was a banshee and didn't show any sign of quieting down. She alternated between screaming, growling, and gnashing of her teeth. She didn't even hear the siren as she stopped pounding his body while she still propped it up. She gazed, with forlorn loss, into his face, as her silenced cries reduced into hiccupping sobs.
Ralph's eyes were still partly open, glazed and fixed on a point seemingly not of this world, as if he were trying to see through her and beyond her, although his expression oddly appeared locked into one of contentment.
He had the look of a person who realized there was nothing more to accomplish. That everything he wanted and needed had all been taken care of -- that was the expression painted in contented happiness on his face.
Even through her shock, Alice could see.
Ralph looked serene, almost like he anticipated... this.
Ma'am? Ma'am!
There were people in their home. Ma'am, are you all right?
9-1-1? We got her.
She's in shock, I think. Let us look at him, please, ma'am.
They were trying to separate her from Ralph!
Alice seized hold of him and hugged him, fiercely. Between tears, she kissed him all over his cold face, his cold lips, and then his cold hands, as they tugged at her, and begged her to come away. She escaped their grasping fingers and hugged him, Ralph, her ragdoll, for a long time as if her warmth would give him the life she desperately needed to be restored.
She never truly felt the dim sharp pain that was added to the full dumpster of hurt she felt heavily upon her, before she slipped into darkness.
YOU'RE FINE, ALICE. Is there anyone we can call?
They'd taken her in for a medical watch, at the hospital.
She was fine, and alone.
Alice dimly recalled her closest friends and cousin were still
