I love animals. I have 5 cats, ages 12, 12, 11, 2,& 2. I also have 2 adorable Chiweenie pups named JJ and Abbey. The 4 youngsters in the pet department make me smile, laugh and sometimes groan each and every day. Recently, I got temporary (ha!) custody of my daughter’s 3 year old, Great Pyrenese named Shasta. We've bonded, especially her to me, so what do you think that means.... Seriously, she's a special needs dog and very sweet. Each spring, we have a nest of swallows in our entry way and I love to watch the babies leave the nest and take flight. I enjoy crafts of all sorts including quilting, sewing, cross stitch and knitting. Knitting and crochet are my current passions. I also enjoy gardening. Through my love of all things Native American, I designed a 26 foot Medicine Wheel Garden. It is a big project but one that I enjoys, except when the weeds threaten. Right now its uncertain who is winning this war. Camping, fishing, biking and hiking (when not hot) are other outdoor pursuits I enjoy with my husband of 35 years. I am, of course, an avid reader. I hate cooking and housework and love to listen to a wide variety of music, including Neil Diamond, Celtic, Native American, Classical, and mood music (bagpipes and howling wolves drive my family nuts). My current favorites are Blackmore's Night and David Lantz I love to hear from my readers and I try to answer all my mail but sometimes it takes a while. Be patient. And check back here for the latest news of my books. Bio Native American/Western romance writer Susan Edwards is the author of the popular “White” Series. Your Perfect Life - Susan Edwards

    Introduction

How did you become interested in the Law of Attraction and decide to read this book?

Perhaps you have seen authors on television, talking about the Law of Attraction. Oprah devoted two full programs to it. If you been past a bookstore shelf or newsstand, you have surely seen the subject represented. Maybe you watched a movie such as Rhonda Byrne’s The Secret or Marlee Matlin in William Arntz’s What the Bleep Do We Know?

Have you been turned on to the Law of Attraction by someone who believes in it?

However you got here, you can be grateful that you did. (You’ll learn a lot more about gratitude, later!) After you read this book, you will be able to live your life more positively, productively, and fully than you previously imagined you ever could.

The Law of Attraction appears in every major religion, in some form or another, and has been used for thousands of years. Every Law of Attraction teacher has a personal perspective, a slightly different version of the Law to teach. Some are incredibly complex and involve scores of sub-laws. Right now, we’re concerned with mastering the basics. You can continue to study and learn more about the Law of Attraction for the rest of your life.

Until you learn to use the Law, you will live your life by default—the seeming victim of circumstances and the people around you. The Law teaches us to become the designers of our own lives, to create our richest reality and future.

The Law of Attraction is very real, and you are about to learn how you can use it to become a positive person who attracts whatever you want into your life. You can invite the wealth, friendships, loving relationships, and career that you dream of.

Chapter 1: What is the Law of Attraction?

The law of attraction, very simply stated, is that you will receive whatever you think the most often about and feel the most strongly about. Alternately, you receive what you send out. Thoughts become things. We create our own reality and future through positive intentions.

Different people may use slightly different terms for the thinking/feeling/sending part. Sometimes you will hear about, energy or vibration. It’s all the same. Basically, the universe sends you what you focus on.

    What does this imply?

First, it tells us that we are all pretty much responsible for our current situation. It may not always seem that way. (We’ll talk more about that later.) However, aside from some major natural factors that no one can control, we have far more influence than most people generally admit. Sure, some people are born into extravagantly fortunate circumstances, and sometimes natural disasters strike.

But we don’t usually spend our days lamenting the fact that we weren’t born into the Hilton financial empire or cleaning up after a tornado has ripped through our neighborhood. (At least, I hope you don’t.) Our day-to-day existence is bounded by what we have brought on for ourselves.

I once spent several years complaining about my job and the people I worked with. It’s embarrassing now, and amazing that my family and friends put up with me. Every day that I went into that office, I knew exactly what it would be like. I knew I would hate it. But I kept going back and hating it—so it isn’t any surprise that it never got better.

My negative outlook kept my existence and future negative. It’s easy to see that, isn’t it? If you think about it, you have probably been in a similar place. Maybe you are reading this book because you are in that place right now. This doesn’t mean you should beat up on yourself for your problems. It simply means that you need to look at them another way. Read on.

Second, it means that our potential is almost unlimited! If you can see that I brought on my job misery (which, of course, spilled into my personal life) by expecting and accepting it, then maybe you can see that the opposite way of life is equally possible.

Likewise, we know that we avoid unpleasant, crabby, negative people. Their vibration drives potential friends and loved ones away. Can you see that becoming a positive person and sending out the right kind of energy would have the opposite effect? It will draw desirable people into your life.

The Law of Attraction teaches us that we can bring the positive, wonderful things we visualize into our life by expecting and focusing on them.
