About this ebook

THE PERMIT is a fast-moving techno-thriller novel based on the actual event of the author's eldest son being murdered by a new class of domestic terrorist: Rogue or outlaw police officers, who kill innocents, then cover up their crimes. In THE PERMIT, three rogue Las Vegas cops gun down a covert federal agent and immediately become high-priority targets of the dead agent's comrades: A team of "black ops" assassins. Called Checkmate, the secret team tracks down and eliminates domestic terrorists, employing unique high-tech weapons to instill fear, doubt and division among sleeper cells. Because they are slaughtering thousands of American citizens, outlaw cops are designated THE most dangerous domestic terrorist threat facing Americans today. Consequently, Checkmate is charged with neutralizing killer-cops, but has very little time to complete its mission. If Checkmate fails, the United States will erupt in armed revolt....and may not survive.

This novel is based on actual events reflecting an all American family's lost treasure - a beloved and most honored son just embarking upon a bright and hopeful future, as he is suddenly taken away by incomprehensible circumstances.

Writers rarely write outside their field of knowledge, and in the search for the killer of his son, William Scott explores nontraditional snapshots of future technologies that rivet the unsuspecting reader's imagination.

A mourning father, committed to standards of scientific knowledge in his own career, and respect for dedicated law enforcement, brings insightful information of corruption that can permeate into a very powerful law enforcement team, as depicted in the Las Vegas PD.

A must read for anyone who cherishes the love of family. The depth of despair in the loss of a family member is tragically entangled in a creeping corruption of our first responders.
