He has worked as a newspaperboy, a busboy, a janitor, a machine operator, a furniture mover, a dockman, a whiskey truck driver, an OTR driver, a medi-van driver, a UPS driver, a pile driver operator, a landscaper and groundskeeper, an ironworker, a roofer, a custom area rug maker, carpetbinder and highly-rated floor installer. It was on this date three years ago, early in the morning, when I first began to realize how great Cormac McCarthy's The Road was going to be. I was six pages in when I jumped up off my chair and ran into the kitchen, waving the book at my ol' lady as if it were a brand new set of car keys.
