Hector Bean
Hector Bean vehemently denies that his book series "A Dork Named Dodson" is based off of his own life, despite the fact that he wears enormous black-rimmed glasses and is a very large dork. When he isn't writing he enjoys going on walks to the mailbox and watching Star Trek: Voyager while eating chicken-fried steak.

Hello there. In case you haven’t read my diary--I mean, journal--before, my name is Dodson. And while I kind of hate to admit it sometimes, I’m a great big dork. A dork, a nerd, a dweeb, whatever you want to call it. It means that I’m really smart, but I’m not too popular at school or very good at sports and stuff. I’d much rather watch old Star Trek episodes than watch football. I’d much rather do my homework than go to the mall with the other kids after school. But that’s just who I am, and I’ve come to accept that.
I’ve got a best friend named Squishy who’s a lot like me, and I started this journal because it seems that a lot of zany and interesting stuff happens to us. We might be dorks, but our lives are anything but boring! Though sometimes things can certainly get a bit rough. And boy howdy, you can’t even imagine the weekend we just went through. I’ll tell you about it now, but be warned: There are terrors near the end of this journal entry that Squishy and I had never even imagined! Things so terrible that those with a weak constitution should not continue past chapter four! So here we go.
Chapter 1
The Glorious Goal
To everyone else, it seemed like an ordinary school day. The sun was shining outside, the teacher was talking, and everyone was scratching away at the notes on their desks. Just a usual Friday afternoon. But for me and Squishy, it was torture.
We sat there, drumming our fingers on our desks, tapping our feet nervously, staring at the clock with a quiet intensity. Sweat dripped from our foreheads as we watched the second hand tick slowly...slowly...slowly toward the ‘12’ at the top of the clock. We had been waiting for 3:00 to come around all day, but now that it was only a minute away
