About this ebook

Inside this collection is an awesome range of monsters and situations that are just downright weird. You will discover that that old mirror on the wall might just be more
than it appears to be; that even werewolves have a romantic side; that even the devil hates divorces, especially this one; that one shouldn't make fun of monsters; and that some robots are just downright romantic. Have fun and enjoy the excursion down Weird Lane.

Warning! Don't read these late at night. You just might see one of these characters when you least expect it.

I have made it a point to separate the stories as chapters, since the electronic format doesn't allow an easy way of collecting individual stories.

When you reach a new chapter, it signifies you have reached the next story of the collection.

    Have fun!

    Sincerely,

    John Pirillo

    Acknowledgements

I'd like to thank all the wonderful people in my life who have made this journey an adventure and an exploration of the heart, mind, soul and body.

To all those who aspire to greatness I say keep on trucking, the road is a long one at times, but like the little train that thought it could, we all can with patience.

To all the great writers upon whose wonderful words, fantasies and characters I ride.

To my daughter Faith, who has been a cornerstone of my life for years before and hopefully many more to come.

To my best friend Shirley and my very best and best and most spiritual friend, Allan, without whom my life might be quite a bit different now.

To the planet without which I would have no home, and to all those brave enough and wise enough to want to preserve it for future generations.

To all my friends who have already crossed into the Light.

To all the new friends I hope to make before my adventure on Earth ends and I began my new one in the Light.

    CHAPTER ONE: KOOTCHIE, KOOTCHIE, KOO!

Chalmers and Pokey had been friends since they were kids.

Pokey and Chalmers grew up. Pokey became more normal. Chalmers did not. He became a writer. Of horror tales. Tales for children and adults. He didn’t qualm at scaring the daylights out of a child, anymore than he did frightening an adult. It was his job. He loved it. Maybe too much. Maybe not. I won't judge him.

A day came when Chalmers was set to create an original story for a class at the local school. Pokey didn’t think it was a good idea to tell a horror story to such young children. He felt it would disturb their dreams. Frighten them in ways that they might not be able to let go of.

Chalmers disagreed. He felt that children didn’t need to be protected. It served them better to expose them to the harsher realities of life as soon as possible. "Better to get a beating when you're young and flexible, than when you're old and likely to become bitter because
