    Nikolaj lives in Auckland, New Zealand with his long suffering partner, their four children and a cat that thinks she's a tiger. His work as a yacht captain takes him away for long periods to far flung corners of the globe. It's a full on job but when possible Nikolaj escapes into a fantasy world of teleporting clouds and flying cats to write stories for his children. He used to write these out long-hand but more recently has been tapping them out on an i-pad and publishing them online. While his children are rapidly growing up, the younger two are firm fans and always demand a bedtime story when Dad is home.

      Author's note about Cabo: most of these stories are based on real events that occurred during the year of chaos and disaster that descended on our house when Cabo came to stay.

      Cabo starts off black, but as black pencil doesn’t scan very well, he becomes blue, and sometimes green, as the story progresses.

      Chapter 1 - Life was Great

      Life was great.

      The days were full of fighting, sleeping, eating and Mum.

      Life was great, then along came a red van full of smelly children and stole Cabo away from his mother, and his eleven sisters and brothers; Candy, Clara, Coco, Chester, Cricket and Chico, just to name a few.

      Life was great, then Cabo was put in a box, stuffed in the back of the van and transported to another life.

      Life was great, then Cabo headed off
