About this ebook

This collection of poetry is part cinematic, part ethereal, part surreal, and part Fluxus. “Short bursts of imagery...[the] choice of words and ideas are very interesting. I especially enjoyed “Consuming Colors”. The murky, colored water, ancestors and survival says something about sustainability and things often taken for granted.” -H.L. Martin

    Waking Entropy - Jacob Garcia

Time is seen by eyes half-closed,

It is awake, alive to the dusty alabaster

    Fragility that takes form, framework

    Upon the foundations, free

    To take various variations:

    Rigid rocks, slippery sediments,

    Ponderosa pine, broad Beech trees,

    Delicate doves, sporting salmon,

    Peaceful people, shining stars.

The afternoon ancient in gaping gasps,

Drops a few final words, welcoming

    The twilight tinged with

    Light from the setting sun,

    Words weighing like stones,

Moving like vapors venting from earth,

    Shifting sands are the echoes

    That pour into our perceptions.

    Albuquerque Itacate

In the dry heat that chokes the air

    On Montaño Boulevard where roadrunners,

    Finches, crackens perch,

Where Totem stand carved, chiseled, hewn,

Sanded from the dying trees that lived three centuries.

The yucca grows tall and cottonwoods sway

The sunlight glints on the Rio Grande.

Soft comes the wind on the Bosque

Amid the rush of four lane traffic.

    Albuquerque sky opens wide,

    Roving thunderheads drive the storm
