Studying the Gospel of Mark: Exploring Christ, the Cross, and the Contemporary - Session 5
()
About this ebook
This is a Bible Study Series on the Gospel of Mark, from a Lutheran Perspective, that explores this story's take on Christ, view of the Cross, and, through basic questions, implications for our Contemporary lives. It is meant to be used in a small group; however, it is hoped that it will still be beneficial for even a lone student. This fifth part covers Mark 8:27-10:45. Four Sessions will precede this one, and three more Sessions will follow.

Jesus and His disciples now travel to Caesarea Philippi, which is in an area associated with emperor worship and the god Pan, and while travelling, Jesus asks the disciples: Who do people say that I am?
They answer by saying: John the Baptist, Elijah, and one of the prophets. Then Jesus changes the question a bit: But who do you say that I am?
