About this ebook

This biographical novel is the true story of a father's love for his three year old daughter struck down with Leukemia. Together they explore the purpose behind her suffering and also fight for her survival in a health service that could not cope.

Laura is a twin. With her family they travel to Sweden when the fallout from Chernobyl is high. She becomes ill and is eventually diagnosed with leukemia. She is taken to hospital but it has few facilities to cope and the staff are untrained to cope. The family fight a battle to change things. Laura's journey is filled with poignancy, hope and sadness yet she knows happiness as she moves toward the place where the lark ascends.

The story became an inspiration behind the founding of The Laura Centre, Rainbows & other children's charities.
