About The Author
PREFACE
In the hit movie Father of the Bride, Steve Martin plays a father named George Banks who goes through the painful process of planning—and paying quite dearly for—his daughter’s wedding. It’s an event filled with so much extravagance that you start to wonder when he’ll finally say, No more!
Although it’s both funny and heartfelt, there seems to be an underlying truth: weddings can be expensive. Many sources cite the average wedding today costs between $20,000 and $30,000.
Traditionally, the bride’s parents are the ones enlisted to pay for their daughter’s wedding, but what if they’re unable to do so? Or they may be able to, but not to the tune of what the average wedding costs. It could be that you want to fund your own wedding, yet lack the money at the present time.
