About this ebook

Based on a true story told by Deborah Moffitt, Joie Albrecht paints a compelling portrait of the family’s chilling interactions with a demonic entity, capturing the horrifying reality of a real haunting that has been hidden for over 25 years. Relive the Moffitt family’s struggles against a vastly intelligence and destructive demon and their daily battle to maintain their sanity and physical well-being. Though many believe demons to be beings wrought of mindless hate and malice, A Deadly Haunting will challenge that perception and change the way we see evil.

A couple of months ago I came across the story of the Moffitt family on one of my favorite podcast shows. I was intrigued by their predicament and promised myself that I would later dig deeper into their tale. I had never heard of a family so tortured by an entity other than the typical ‘Amityville’ movie that occasionally played on T.V. When I did purchase the book it provided me a much richer description of what took place in the home. The book is about a family that consists of Lee, Bill Sr. Bill, and Deborah; who are bombarded with both physical and mental abuse by a demonic entity. The entity is a force of evil that has decided to claim the life of one person and has caused perpetual mental trauma by isolating the family members from friends, family, and the general public. Obscene messages are constantly written on the mirror, walls are ripped apart, clothes are destroyed, and personal belongings are lost. To live in the home is to live in a horror movie. The book was full of rich details about what happened to each family member. Nothing was left out and pictures were provided for the reader as well. I first must say that the story is very good, but the writing style is poor. I honestly believe that the story would have read smoother if it was told first hand rather than by third person removed. I believe that if Deborah herself had narrated the story it would have been an excellent book. I have to say that it is loosely based on a true story. I have a hard time believing about fifty percent of the actual haunting activities. It does seem like embellishments to me. Some things seem just too impossible to believe to be true. Overall I still am happy that I purchased the book. I did enjoy it and would still recommend it to those that enjoy the paranormal.
