About this ebook
Dedicated to my (specifically and all in general) children, who while not making the joy-ney worth taking, have made it a heck of a lot more fun. Hugs and Endless Joy. Peace.
It has been my long standing feeling, from a very young (writerly) age that (if this can be said at all) the Truly Best Stories are those that satisfy our Childish Self. Whether this be myths, fables, parables, etc., etc., the stories we REALLY fall in love with have an air of whimsy, innocence, and childish playfulness.
And ever since, immersing myself in folklore (at The University of Texas) or Italo Calvino (around the time for my son (first child, the 2nd being my daughter) was born (2001), I have set as a goal for myself to master this Art Form - the Children's Story.
This book is my collection of children stories thus far written, with many more to come, and I hope will pluck and strum at that Strings of Your Heart, which enjoys/loves such things as Magical Realism, Fantasy, Dragons, and Fairies.
NOTE: This is FULLY INTENDED to be read WITH, TO, and BY children.

I've been writing for a very long time, what seems like my whole life, taking it seriously from the time I was about 11. Now, at 46, I think I may be starting to get the hang of it: Say what you feel, as passionately as you can, but always with an ear turned to those who are listening. Most of my more serious work is done at live performances, which i do totally extemporaneously, channeling the mood of the room as my fingers play on the guitar. You can see some of that if you go to "my" website. (Open Mics Austin is a platform I created to showcase the Spoken Word scene here in Austin, TX. Only a small role in which i play.)As far as I can tell what makes good writing is LOVE. Love ,plainly simply, and with no strings attached.I put these words/books before you, not so much because I want something back from it, because I think and feel like I feel my bones and my soul, if you were to see the world, experience it like it do, for even a brief moment, you would walk away from that happier, more alive, compassionate and in tune with all those around you.Peace, good will, and harmony. Let those be your guiding light.Agape forever,Scott VanyaPublication Credits:Stepping Stones Magazine, The Main Street Rag, www.carcinogenicpoetry.com, Texas Art Initiative, Phoenix New Life Poetry, Walt’s Corner, Manna, Perigee, Chicago Literary Review, Mobius, Cosmic Trend, Pitchfork, Romantics Quarterly, Artisan, Pegasus, The Neovictorian, Red Owl, The Story Teller, The Blind Man's Rainbow, Atlantic Pacific Press

The Story of Adam and His Ant
Once upon a time, there lived a little boy named Adam.
Adam was a sweet little boy who had a best friend, a beautiful red fire ant.
The ant lived on Adam's body and went everywhere with him.
Sometimes Ant would walk on Adam's shoulders.
Other times he'd live in Adam's hair.
When Adam slept Ant slept, too, in Adam's hand cuddled against his neck.
In school, Ant helped Adam a lot.
When Adam was thinking, Ant would scratch Adam's forehead.
When Adam had an itch, Ant would scratch in just the right spot.
And when Adam was sad or lonely, Ant would tickle Adam behind the ears or against his ribs.
Sometimes another child would see Ant on Adam's face and shriek a little bit, Eek, an ant!
You see, Adam's friend was a fire ant, and when they sting
