Forever Here
*****
Flowers can bloom from nowhere.
From the deepest gloom, brimstone
And dreams gone awry, then
Tiny buds of hope flower into
Your view.
Bitter the days, cold winds
Strafing the land, then
Sun and waters flowing
Down through sweet valleys.
I would hope to live forever.
By your side, tasting whites and
Blacks and blues,
Tenacious days set against
Foul and fair weather.
Forever here.

This Is Our Home
Out of all the trillions and quadrillions of suns and moons and planets extant in our universe, and in the quintillions of universes still unknown, we are here, on this blue planet, seven billion strong.
This is our home. This is where we live. This is where the stories and cosmogonies of history have been fashioned and shaped, encompassing quintillions of universes, and made them bend to our own vision and will.
How incredible it all is. To live, to be alive. To breathe, to wonder. To look with our eyes into the fathomless night and see stars reaching to infinity.
Meanwhile, all over our world, the past is being demolished, ugly structures raised overnight, waters polluted, the skies hazed with dust and debris, highways jammed, a strident cacophony of noise, wars exploding all over the planet, devastation, human effort everywhere dedicated to waste and greed, leaving in its wake a despoiled planet, a ruined habitation, a desecrated home.
As far as we know, only on this planet is mankind's dream given play, to mould and create new worlds, and we are dead-locked in dead-end dramas of the mind and of the heart.
A wasted young man huddles in the shadows, pulling a blanket tight about his shoulders, fending off the cold night. This is humanity reduced to a shivering shadow of itself.
What are his dreams as he struggles through the night?
Does he dream of boundless horizons, of his own body expanding through corridors of time and space, dreaming new dreams, awakening unheard-of possibilities, becoming more than man or woman ever imagined? Or is he tied down to bottles, shards of food, and a blurred vision of fear and shadows in the night?
We are all immortal, set on this insignificant star to cast ourselves in new and glorious dramas that reach out to pull on the heartstrings of galaxies and black holes and parallel universes, arrayed, as they are, as our audience.
They are waiting for us to discover our true parts, not the songs and characters of minor plots, but our true place in the universe, as the gods we have sung of and bowed down before for millennia.
We are the originals.
Waiting to be discovered, bring us forth at last, forever.

Real Treasures
The universe cries for us to go beyond it. The heart of the cosmos is dying to be liberated from itself.
Marks of success and money and fame are as nothing. Real treasures hide in deep waters, never giving up their jewels to
