The Pleasure of Your Kiss is one of the most enjoyable romances that I have read in a long time. Ashton Burke, a famous adventurer/bachelor, is asked by his estranged brother to rescue his brother's fiancee from a harem where she is being held captive. Ashton agrees but when he arrives at the stronghold where she is being kept he comes to realize that it is his secret childhood love Clarinda Cardew that he has been sent to rescue. Of course, old feelings between Ashton and Clarinda bubble to the surface while they try to figure out a way to escape.Whew! That may sound like the most convoluted summary ever but the author actually does quite well with it. I found myself instantly immersed in the story and I didn't want to put the book down. What I really liked about this book was how daring the author was with the storyline choices that she made. I never knew what was going to happen next or how there could ever possibly be a happy ending for the two main characters. I mean, Clarinda the main character, was being kept in a sultan's harem for crying out loud. It helped to keep me on my toes which I really enjoyed. The romance and chemistry between Ashton and Clarinda was super steamy....especially the scene where they were locked in a tower together for the night. The ending of the book went a little bit faster than I would have liked but it was a solid ending in my opinion. I was just left wanting more but it looks like there is going to be another book in the future featuring Ashton's brother. I'm going to be looking forward to getting my hands on that one when it comes out!All in all, this was a really great romance read! This was my first time reading this author but I'm going to be reading more by her for sure. In fact, I think I'm off to look at her back list of books right now :) Highly recommended especially to fans of historical romance!Bottom Line: A steamy romance that was completely unpredictable. I loved it!Disclosure: I was sent a copy of this book from the publisher for a blog tour. I'm behind as always so my thoughts on this one are a bit late :)

Wonderful story, full of twists and turns. Though quite unbelievable that the heroine survived the harem without being touched.

There are not many books that mention harems within their pages and this one was a rather interesting one. It was filled with passion, both anger and lust, both lost and found; wonderful characters and a good plot, what more could a girl ask for?

I love when Ms. Medeiros comes out with a new book. I am also happy to see a historical romance from her. She is wonderful and I can't wait to see if she makes this book a series. Anyway, I had a bit of trouble getting into the book but there are plenty of things I enjoyed once I did.

I love Clarinda, she is a fireball and I loved how she just kept going, like the energizer bunny. I also adore Poppy, even though this is Clarinda's story, Poppy is my favorite. I liked the time frame this book was set it, it felt like an epic adventure novel when I started to read it, usually our proper English Ms doesn't go very far in other historical romances. I like that she is all the way in the Middle East.

I loved the romance and how Ash and Clarinda kept just bantering back and forth without a thought, they kept me smiling and it made it even better when they finally FINALLY got together.

You won't be disappointed in this novel, definitely try it!

This historical romance started out with a good plot as the story unfolded but then it started to get heavy with flashbacks and the action slowed down. I began to lose interest about halfway only reading a couple pages per chapter to get the gist. Aston's brother asks him to rescue Clarinda who is has been kidnapped into a harem.

The story plodded along time a rushed ending. The heroine is described as “headstrong and spirited”. She rather unlikable and a pain as a character. If I had to read another mention of her “wheaten hair” one more time... She’s blond, we get it. Anyway, I finished the story. I should get a five star rating for my accomplishment.

Medeiros is one of my favorite historical romance authors, but this book was not to the level of her other books, in my opinion. I liked the idea of the Moroccan setting and I thought she painted that picture well, but the characters seemed plastic and some of her word choices were eye-roll-inducing.

There was a nice twist at the very end that I enjoyed, but all in all, not a keeper.

Clarinda is on her way, to her forthcoming marriage to a Duke, one of the most eligible bachelors. Even though she doesn't love him, she cares for him and respects him. She knows that it is time for her to settle down and have a family. On her voyage however, she and her friend end up being kidnapped by corsair pirates. When Ashton is informed by his brother the Duke, that Clarinda Cardrew has been sold into a harem, he knows he doesn't have much choice but to rescue her. Ashton has always loved Clarinda but never felt worthy of her so left her in England, but now he finds out she is engaged to his brother and that she can never be his. However he is the only one that is capable enough to find her and rescue her so he heads to the harem where she is located. What he doesn't expect is to know the Sultan that has possession of her which only results in complicating things further. He never though that he would find himself so drawn to Clarinda, or to find their love rekindled into a powerful desire that could threaten to destroy both of them in the process. After snatching this up from the local library, I was very thrilled to read this one. I have always enjoyed every book I have read from this author. From her older books to her more recent ones, her writing has only gotten better in my view. There were so many things that I loved about "The Pleasure Of Your Kiss". First I want to talk about the characteristics about each characters. Ashton is quite a rake, traveled all over the world and takes pleasure where he can find it. Even though he has a very tough exterior he also has a bit of a soft side once you get past the outer shell. He can be very gentle and passionate. He is a charming character that makes me sigh whenever I think about him. Clarinda I found to be a very spirited character. She is very strong willed, intelligent and independent and doesn't apologize for anything. I truly admired her most of the time. Now the plot was full of intrigue and intensity. I just loved a good harem romance, but this one was a bit different. There was also a side story romance that was charming. I fell completely in love with Poppy and the Sultan. I felt like the way that Medieros puts this book together was priceless. Such a vivid description of a romance that is full of depth and mesmerizing scenes. A uniquely depicted story that will thoroughly entertain you straight to your toes. A Sensual adventure!! (I can hardly wait for Max's story....jumping up and down in anticipation)

MY THOUGHTSLOVED IT Clarinda fell in love with the rogue next door and Ashton broke her heart when he promised to return to her once he had made his fortune. He never returned but his exploits found their way back to her ears. When his reckless way almost kill him, he must reach out to his estranged brother, Max who has comforted Clarinda previously and they become engaged even though she has never forgot about Ashton. Clarinda is on her way to Max when the ship is attacked and she captured, then sent on to a harem! Ashton is recruited to help rescue her by Max and he doesn't realize that this is that same girl he loved. Yes, you can imagine the the not so cute meet that takes place.I adore Teresa Medieros' writing style and I am thrilled that she has written such a fun historical romance. You may know her from her paranormal romances, but her latest combines all of her strengths. Clarinda is a feisty heroine while Ashton is the perfect foil and she can give as good as she gets. Oh, the double entendre there! The best part of the story is that while improbable, in this world it all could happen and the author makes it so incredibly believable. Ash, ever the adventurer puts Clarinda through many trial rather than just hand her over to his brother. At times, I almost felt sorry for him since he is just so lost when it comes to where his heart should be. Thank you, Ms. Medieros, for taking me away for a few wonderful hours.

After reading Goodnight Tweetheart by Ms. Medeiros, I knew I had to read MORE of her work. So, I jumped at the chance to read this book. This is one AWESOME read! Ms. Medeiros blends amazingly complex yet fun loving characters into a humorous, mysterious plot line and adds it to a historical romance story that will leave the reader in awe of not only her work, but her ability to transport the reader to the center of the Regency era and make them feel at home among the characters' lives. Set in a harlem, this story incorporates all the elements: kidnapping, romance, humor, mystery, happiness, sadness, anger and irresistible kisses from a hunk of a man. I loved the way this story played out. With laughs and love, and fighting for lives, this story hooked me instantly. Reading Clarinda and Ash's story was so much fun. Clarinda. I loved her character. She was a sweet, charming girl but she held a bit of a grudge against the handsome, dashing Ashton. He left her standing alone as he walked out of her life. But, she couldn't wait around for the unknown, so she moved on. Now engaged to his brother, she's been kidnapped and Max, Ashton's brother, is forced to do the one thing he shouldn't have to do. Enlist his brother Ash's help in retrieving his fiance. Ash's character was awesome. I felt the conflicting emotions he felt when he was indecisive over rescuing the only woman he's ever loved only to turn her over to his brother. I wanted to stand beside him and tell him that it would be okay, give him a big old hug and tell him to be merry. But, instead, I sat back and watched the events unfold as he tricked, and tried, and tested everyone until he found his way to the sweet, beautiful woman he would have to return to this brother. Both of these characters were awesome, and with some amazing secondary characters, like Poppy...bless her soul....Ms. Meideros keeps the reader on their toes with this wonderful romance novel. I definitely will be putting this 5 Book worthy novel on the shelf as a keeper and will go back to read it again, again, and again. I can't wait to read Max's story in the second installment of regency romance from this amazing, witty author! Great job, Ms. Medeiros!
