I only read the Jeaniene Frost story but it was good.

JF's story (Night's Darkest Embrace) was really good, I enjoyed it a lot. I loved the whole new world that she created. I would love to see her write a series using this world, you know, after cat and bones. It's what you would expect with a strong female main character who orchestrates her own ending, and wants to do it all herself.

Shayla Black's story, Mated, was really awesome. It actually makes me want to check out the rest of the series and other thing's that SB has written. Raiden is a man-slut, who's got a baby on the way and doesn't understand his own feelings. It's short and sweet. If you like man-whore turned macho possessive/protective cry baby man this is your short story.

Sharie Kohler’s short story in Haunted by your Touch was excellent. Could possibly rate in my top ten short stories. It was very well written with everything falling into place rather beautifully. The world was built enough, the romance was built great and the ending left you satisfied. Would totally through this book at a friend and force them to read it.

Normally I've really enjoyed Jeanie's Frost paranormal romance works...I liked this setting for this story, but just way to much sex in this novella. (I will admit when I read paranormal romance, I just sort of skim through the pages depicting sex scenes...enough is enough after a while..Ad nauseam. I think I have to blame the Anita Blake books for that.) I really enjoyed the middle story the best.

I had to put this book down a few times and give it a rest. Just not super into these stories today, except the middle one...possibly because it has the least amount of sex and more romance to it.

I only read the story by Jeaniene Frost. This is the first story of her's that was not about Bones and company. I was not sure if I would like it or not. I have read books from authors in the past where I only liked characters in that series. I could not stand anything else they wrote. That is not the case here. I loved this story. It did have a few twists and turns. Also has good character development, especially considering that this story is only 156 pages. Many times, I do not like short stories unless it is part of a series. There is just not enough time for character and story development. Here Jeaniene Frost brings a whole new story, with a new species and all new characters and they story is still great. I really enjoyed this story. Now the upsetting thing is that I do not have more of this story to read.

I did not read any of the other stories. My TBR list is entirely too long at this time.

Black - Mated - 4 1/2 stars - Would have been 5 if he had been nicer to her in the beginning of the story. However, it quickly became a great book to continue the series. This is about Raiden, Ronan's twin brother. Ronan's story is told in Mated which I highly recommend reading. It's also a short and very good. I don't think either have to be read in order to understand the series, but it is nice to read them and I would suggest reading Fater first which is free on her website or $.99 at Amazon Kindle. Mated was pretty action based but still had a lot of relationship building and steamy scenes! It was the typical "You're not safe with me so I'm leaving you" story, but you know that doesn't last:-)

Two of these stories (from Black and Kohler) are related to series I currently follow so I had more interest in them. I really liked these two. They felt complete. I didn't feel like I was missing something but being familiar with the series helps with that. Someone who hasn't read the series might feel like they are missing a little back story, more so with Black's novella than with Kohler's (IMO). Frost's story doesn't appear to be part of a series, but I hope we will see more of this world. Me likey this one too :) - Mated by Shayla Black (Doomsday Brethren 3.5) - 4.5 stars - Darkest Temptation by Sharie Kohler (Moon Chasers 4.5) - 4 stars - Night's Darkest Embrace by Jeaniene Frost - 4 starsI have a love/hate relationship with anthologies, and I don't often find myself really liking all the stories. Overall, I think this was a very good selection of stories. I truly enjoyed all three novellas. If you are familiar with the associated series I think you will appreciate the related stories. If you aren't familiar with them, you may want to be after reading this anthology.

These three paranormal romance novellas were all entertaining reads. I liked the one by Frost the best even though it doesn't take place in her Cat & Bones world. It introduces a new world with Partial demons, the Purebloods who feed on them, and the Fallen who feed on them. A Partial girl is hunting down the Pureblood who killer her cousin and romance the Fallen who seems to know too much. The other two stories take place in worlds created by the other two authors. I am not familiar with either of the author's stories but would be willing to give them a try after reading these stories.

I bought this anthology for Jeaniene Frost's novella but enjoyed all of the stories. It's always nice to find a new series to read and this anthology introduced me to two of them. The only downside to picking up an anthology and discovering new authors is being introduced in the middle of a series. Jeaniene Frost's "Night's Darkest Embrace" ~ 4.5 starsShayla Black's "Mated" ~ 4 starsSharie Kohler's "Darkest Temptation" ~ 3.5 stars

Haunted by Your Touch by Jeaniene Frost, Sharie Kohler, and Shayla BlackParanormal Romance- Oct 26th, 2010 4 stars Haunted by Your Touch is an anthology that includes paranormal stories from: Shayla Black’s Doomsday Brethren series, Sharie Kohler’s werewolf series, and an original novel by Jeanine Frost. Jeaniene Frost's story is a departure from her vampire series. This story has a somewhat lighter tone than her vampire books. It involves a young woman named Mara. Mara is part demon and she is on a mission. She has decided to cross over to another realm called Nocturna where she hopes to mete justice upon the Purebloods that stole her cousin and drained her life. As a partial demon her kind are vunerable to the Purebloods who must feed on them to live. Mara puts her life in danger trying to hunt down her cousin's killer but the unexpected occurs with the sudden appearance of the dangerous leader Rafael. He is the ruler of Notcurna and Mara is convinced he knows more than he reveals about her cousin’s death. This story is told in 1st person and it had many interesting twists that kept me on my toes. But overall, I think I would have enjoyed it in 3rd person a little better. There was nothing wrong with the story but I didn’t find is as exciting as her vampire series. 4 stars In Shayla Black’s story she returns to her Doomsday series. Mathias is a well known lothario but his secret is that he actually really cares for Tabitha the mother of his unborn child. Unfortunately, he feels he is not good enough for her and therefore purposely hurts her by treating her poorly. But when her family is attacked and she is believed to be dead Mathias knows he must find the truth. Mathias’s pain and anguish as he tries to discover why Tabitha‘s family was targeted was a moving read. Although Mathias finally acknowledges his love I wish he had treated Tabitha less callously even if it was supposed to be for ‘her own good.’ This was a solid read but because of behavior Mathias’s character was difficult to like initially. However, fans will enjoy glimpses of previous characters in this story. 4 stars Sharie Kohler’s story was my favorite. She revisits her paranormal werewolf series. In this story we are again treated to a world where werewolves are uncontrollable beasts that are hunted for the safety of all. Lily finds herself in an untenable situation when her ladies night out results in a savage a werewolf massacre. Her friend is killed and Lily is bitten. Resulting in her turning into a werewolf if she cannot kill the werewolf responsible for her bite within the next full moon. This story had a very surprising ending. I felt the outcast hero named Luc deserved a measure of happiness. He has been exiled and knows the danger of a loose werewolf. But he still feels compassion for Lily. So instead of putting her down before she succumbs to the werewolf madness he takes care of her. I admired that he had the strength and conscience to treat her far better than humans or werewolves have treated him by giving her a chance. I really felt these 2 deserved each other and I enjoyed the unexpected and delightful happy ending. 5 stars All these stories were easy to read. Jeaniene Frost’s and Sharie Kohler’s plots were more complex and I loved the twists and turns in each storyline. Fans of their books will definitely want to read this anthology. However, because they are novellas they are not nearly as involving as their full length stores except for Sharie Kohler’s short. Reviewed by Steph from the Bookaholics Romance Book Club
