About this ebook

When a celebrity auction for a charity fundraiser presents the hottest man in Hollywood, three women must answer one question—how much would you bid for a star-studded night of pleasure?

Lena Macy, Livia Charles, and Aleesa Davis attend a celebrity auction to benefit the Wounded Warriors Project. At the cocktail hour prior to the event, the women peruse the auction catalog. A collective gasp is heard around the bar. Up for auction among the local news anchors and radio personalities, is the star of the runaway blockbuster Killing Me Softly, the up-and-coming Hollywood hottie, Lorenzo Dora. Blessed with Lamman Rucker's stupendously dimpled smile, Idris Elba’s “how you like me now” swagger, and Dwayne Johnson’s “Rock” hard physique, Lorenzo is sex personified, and tempting eye candy for three women whose candy jars have been empty of late. While the other celebrities are being auctioned off, the girlfriends are lost in their own blissful fantasies, each imagining the perfect night with this world-class heartthrob.

From the first-class cabin on a transatlantic flight to a dark and delicious alleyway, readers of this Eden Davis quickie will find themselves imagining (and instigating) a little pleasurable bidding of their own.

    Going, Going, Gone!

How much would you bid for a night in paradise?

    An Eden Davis EQuickie

Your auction book, ladies, the volunteer said, handing Aleesa Davis and her cousin a glossy, magazine-sized catalog.

Thank you, Aleesa said, accepting both the catalog and a numbered bid paddle.

I can’t believe I let you drag me to this, Livia remarked, only half joking as she perused the New York Hilton’s ballroom. With tables set in rounds of ten, it looked more like a wedding reception filled with a bevy of socially connected, tri-state area women of differing hues and private histories, but with two things in common—a charitable nature and deep pocketbooks. And unlike most of the typical, chicken dinner fundraising events they spent their evenings attending, this room was buzzing with laughter and happy chatter. The idea that behind the curtain waited a gaggle of gorgeous men, there for the bidding, made these ladies giddy with uncharacteristic anticipation.

    Why?

Because the idea of paying for a date seems. . .well. . .desperate.

Aleesa deposited her empty glass with the nearest waiter, and playfully rolled her eyes. Clearly, there was a reason why Liv hadn’t had a date in the four years since her divorce. Not only had her cake-baking cousin become a humdrum homebody, she’d become an über prude as well.

How do you think Walter would feel, knowing you were here to bid on some guy to go out with?

He’d be fine with it. After fifteen years of marriage, and my ‘couldn’t keep his dick in his pants’ first husband, he realizes that I would never cheat on him and vice versa. Besides, I’m not here to get a date. This a celebrity auction for charity. I’m here to support The Wounded Warriors Project which, considering the fact that Walter is currently stationed in Afghanistan, is all the more reason for you to be here supporting our troops.

    It’s a date, Livia insisted.

Noooo. What it is, is some television and radio personalities, sports stars, and actors donating their time for charity. Local businesses donate their services, and we simply donate. If you win the bid, you share a nice evening out—dinner, maybe a show—and go home.

How does that not sound like a date?

More importantly, why is ‘date’ such a four letter word to you? Aleesa countered.

It always has been to anyone who can spell, interjected Lena Macy as she swept into the ballroom to join her friends. Sorry I missed cocktails, girls. Got caught in a—

Meeting, Livia and Aleesa finished for her.
