I have written based upon years of experience. The understandings that I have gained have been the results of failures as well as successes. If I can help you along on your journey and to help you avoid the mistakes that I have made, I will consider my efforts a success. But, like all authors, there is only the telling available. After the book has been read, it is up to the reader to harvest the benefits. That process extends far into your future and I relish the thought that, at some years from now and based upon your reading here, a light may go on, the clouds part and a success will be gained.
The road to being better human being is best taken with the help of the experience of the hundreds of millions who have gone before. There are plenty of places to learn about the techniques and technologies of business but, what will differentiate you as a human being is your humanity and your understanding of what it means to live as a human being.

Earl Smith
Rev. Earl Smith became the youngest chaplain ever hired by the California Department of Corrections when he was asked to become the chaplain at San Quentin in 1983. In 2000, Earl was named National Correctional Chaplain of the Year. He currently serves as chaplain for the San Francisco 49ers and the Golden State Warriors. He has appeared on HBO, CNN, The 700 Club, Trinity Broadcasting and the Discovery Channel, and has been featured in Newsweek and Time. He was born and raised in Stockton, California, where he lives today with his wife, Angel, and their children Ebony, Earl Jr., Tamara, and Franklin.
