About this ebook

Do you consider yourself a Christian? Do you believe that God is loving and kind, and only wants good things for His children? If so, are you perplexed by the condition of the world these days? According to the website “Christianity Today”, Christianity is currently the largest religion in the world! Therefore, why does the planet seem to be in a downward spiral? Is there something wrong with the faith? Weird weather conditions alone have become a reason for concern. Fires, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, and the like, have increased over the past few decades at an alarming rate. Diseases that were once eradicated are not resistant to antibiotics. And what about the high cost of food these days? They say that it’s due to the effects of atmospheric conditions, pestilence, and human intervention. The mid-western United States was once said to be a bread basket blessed with such an abundance of agriculture that we used to export it to other nations. In recent years America has been depending more on imports! Media news has become very depressing. Even attacks from wild animals have greatly increased. So what is the cause of all of this?

Is God angry at us? Somehow the thought of God being anything other than loving and kind does not fit in with most church teaching these days. Sugar coated doctrine which paints God as a big Santa Clause in the sky has left the church spiritually malnourished! This book goes back to the basics of the Christian faith. So many different doctrines in churches these days can make Christians dizzy. Yet we know that “...God is not the author of confusion, but of peace...” (1 Corinthians 14:33 KJV). So where do we find answers and truth? We seek out the One who said, “...I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6 NIV).

This book makes it simple and concise. Chapter One answers the question, “Why Is The World Such A Mess?” It peels back the spiritual curtain and tells us what the Bible says occurred in Heaven before this world was even made. Chapter Two responds to the question, “What Really Is Sin?” People have developed their own ideas about sin based on what is socially and politically correct. But God has His own ideas on the subject, and they do not necessarily agree. And so many people have gotten to the place where they are not sure whom Jesus Christ really was. Worldly movies and shows have painted a very different version of Christ than what the Bible really tells us. So Chapter Three is entitled “The Deity Of Jesus Christ.” And to sum it all up, Chapter Four is “Spiritual Deception In The Last Days.” It points to scripture seldom used in churches. It also provides the reason for the current state of miseries in this world. And what you, as a believer, can do to feel safe. Rather than depending on what you hear from outside sources, go back to the source. Everything in this book is backed up with scripture references even a child can understand.

Anne Kaestner is co-founder of Bible Believers Fellowship, Inc. with her husband Eric. She is the Vice President and Executive Director. Anne also functions as Secretary of the Corporation, and is involved in all major Executive decisions. She attends all Board of Directors meetings, as well as any initial and/or important meetings with professionals hired by the Corporation, including legal, banking, and accounting services. Anne runs the office and is also in charge of personnel. Aside from all of this, she has pioneered our efforts to purchase, at a drastically reduced price, the numerous Christian role model books that we distribute free of charge in correctional facilities nationwide. Anne is in charge of spiritual and doctrinal matters, as well as most written communication. Except for an occasional inmate testimony, she does all of the writing for our publication “The Good News Letter,” most of our mass produced literature, and most of our ebooks. She is in charge of all counseling, the majority of which she handles personally. She is actively involved in researching information that will assist us with our newsletter articles and similar literature, including our “Answers To Your Questions” series. Besides this, she personally reads any and all books and screens all videos that we purchase for distribution. And she was the original liaison between the video suppliers and this ministry. She arranged for the BBFI imprint in our role model books and worked to ensure that we receive copyright clearance on all the Christian videos that we distribute to prisons and jails.

    Chapter One

Why Is The World Such A Mess?

    The Wonder of Creation

A number of years ago my husband and I were on vacation in Vermont and decided to visit the Fairbanks Museum. The first floor was filled with displays of stuffed animals in their natural habitats from different parts of the world. I saw the huge bears of the Arctic with their thick fur coats. I saw the female possums swinging from branches with pockets in their skin to carry their young. I saw a display of Alaskan birds and stood in awe viewing the nest they had built on the snow out of little bits of icy shrubbery they had woven together. Then I asked myself; Who put fur coats on the bears of the Arctic so that they can keep warm? Who put a pocket in the skin of the possum so that she can use both hands when swinging from branches while carrying her young? Who taught the birds of Alaska how to build their nests in the ice so that they could have a home? When we returned from our trip I began to notice that bananas have a zipper on them so that they can be opened easily. So do tangerines. There is every type of fruit, nuts, and vegetable imaginable, made perfectly edible for human consumption and enjoyment. I was overwhelmed with the beauty of creation and the love that went into it, and I asked myself, How can anyone say there is no God? Yet, you may ask, if God has made this world so beautiful, and put so much love into creation, why is there so much evil in it?

We listen to the news at night and it seems as if there’s very little good to report. In their attempt to make life more pleasant for everyone, human legislators try to make laws protecting the rights of others against persecution, discrimination, and crime. But why should such legislation be necessary in a world that was originally created with so much love and beauty? The answer is obvious. Something has gone wrong! We do not live in a perfect world; we do not feel any natural love and affection for all people. Moreover, as society continually tries to find the perfect answer to every human need, it always seems to be out of reach. Could it be that those in control are looking in the wrong place? Think about it and you will realize that the problems in the world do not exist because of the flowers, trees, rocks, mountains, or oceans. The bears and birds don’t cause the problems of the world. People do! Where is most of the crime? It’s not in isolated country areas. It’s in the big cities, because that’s
