About this ebook
Andrea Blythe Barrett dials a number randomly late one night when she decides not to attend their school prom after her breakup with Alvin. A guy named Wacky answers the phone and soon becomes her bosom buddy after a week of exchanging calls and messages. Just when they are about to realize that they are starting to like each other, along came a series of miscommunication when Alvin decides to win Andrea back.
Andrea tells her best friend Codie that she's falling for Wacky, but she tells her sister Casey that she's not yet over Alvin. Alvin tells Wacky that he wants Andrea back, and Casey tells Wacky that Andrea is still in love with Alvin. Hearing this from Casey, Wacky decides to keep Andrea at arms length and helps Alvin win Andrea back but Alvin tells Codie that Wacky is mad upon learning that Andrea likes him because she is making him a rebound. Codie, soon tells Andrea that Wacky hates her and Andrea becomes furious about Casey telling Wacky that she's still in love with Alvin and to Codie giving Alvin the phone number of Wacky. Andrea affronts Alvin for approaching Wacky, and she disses Wacky for believing anything he hears without asking her.
After many phone calls and a lot of tears, it's time to call it a day and switch all their cell phones off. Until they will not learn the value of direct communication, nobody is going to talk.

Confessions Of A Shy Girl
Chapter One
Andrea slammed her phone down to its cradle and buried her head in her pillow. She had seen enough for the whole day. Enough mealymouthed and make-believe words. Enough messages that could fill her room with sweet nothings. Those words were not to be cherished for they were misleading her, and they kept her going misguided. Well, how many times did she adhere to those words like a lifeline that when she felt alone, she thought he was there seven digits away. That when she wanted to cry, she could just jab her thumbs on those keypads, and he would send her some ridiculous jokes that could get her in stitches. How many times did she giggle in front of her vanilla ice cream cake whenever she heard her text tone beeps, that even when her Dad thought she was crazy, she just didn't care! And how many times did she wish that it was Wacky going crazy on the other line? That no matter how busy he was, he couldn't stop himself thinking about her. She glanced back at her phone for awhile. How did that thing closed to six degrees of separation changed her entire life? Her life - that plainly consisted of shoe-shopping with Codie, snap quizzes in biology, and a glamorous dancing with guys every Friday night reminded her that there was still some shade in the blueprint material that she had suppressed? The shade she had found in a mobile piece? Meanwhile, she had been encountering one wisecrack from cranky texters. Some of them were profound, some of them were funny. Some were obscene. Some were corny, and some could kill. And they were all from anyone she did not know. Sometimes she'd been texting anyone, and she did not even know he was at her side stifling with a laugh. Or sometimes, they could be someone she used to bump into the corridor of a visual room, and she just glared at them like a bull in front of a red flag. Some whom she even squabbled in a line-up of cherry slurpee counter. And some guys Codie used to introduce to her at Soda Point every Friday night. But this one was different ever! Wacky was different! He was the only man who had swept off her feet. She knew he was, or so she thought! She smiled at the thought! When did she start to know Wacky?
Andrea banged the door against her boyfriend who came rushing to her like a fool. She did not know how she could show him how upset she was on that sweet message she found on his cell phone. This was not the first time in ages. This was not the first time he had lied to her. One time, she gave him a free ticket to the show they both are dying to see, and he never showed up. She called him several times, but he was as hard as nails to answer. He told her his fever was killing him and so she just pouted hoping she could go get Codie to join her instead. Codie, her best friend, would never turn her down, not for so many reasons, not for any shallow reason in this world, unlike this superficial, self-preoccupied crank she had fallen for deeply enough. Alvin had it all, well almost -- a nice car, good looks, loving family, striking athletic talents, and popular friends. Any gal would be green with envy seeing her dating him; in this show, for example. But well, she just hated to say that he dumped her for no good reason at all. Do you think he has a fever? Well, paltering fever - that is! She thought. On her way home with Codie, their peers invited them over for a drink at the Soda Point where many teenagers usually hanged out. And they saw Alvin dancing with a pretty gal! Fever, huh! He danced all night with a fever, that was for sure! How many times did he do this to her? He would make a mess, and he wanted her to understand him. He'd plead and beg, and she'd believe him. She wanted to believe him. She wanted things to be different, because she could not stand the thought that he did not like her anymore that's why he was fooling around. He would drop her like a hot potato; it was more like jilting a lover. Who on earth would ever want something like that? But this time, she could not stand one more lie! She could never get past this. She meant it when she said it was over!
So tell me, how many messages more will I find out about a girl that you did not tell me?
Andrea shot him a look with her glaring blue, round eyes.
Please let me just explain. If you would just listen to me! You know that we cannot go on bickering like this. Natasha is just a friend. We met on the football field last summer.
Alvin protested trying to fix the clutter on his drawer where some things could be left lying out in the open.
She is just your friend and you haven't mentioned her to me? Since when have you been two-timing? You just can't coerce me to believe you now. I can't stand one more lie from you! You're making me sick!
She screeched and glared at him like she never once did before. She wished she had one bowl of applesauce on her hand so she could throw it to him like a madman.
Why would I tell you. See, it's not that even a big deal. I have so many friends, and sometimes there's just no use telling it to you especially when I just met them once. I can't even believe you'd go into my cell phone. I'd never wanted to pry on your personal belongings just like that!
he shot back.
So that was what we are all along! Hiding things behind? How can I trust you when you can't even make one statement straight ever since?
Listen to me! You can at least give me the benefit of the doubt by finding out who is Natasha and stop shouting at me.
Alvin's hands rose up to his head to calm her.
You're asking what? You're asking too much, you know that? When you lied to me on the show, I've given you your last chance! It's all over between us. Why don't you just hang out with that football groupie of yours who calls you Sweetie?
She emulated an exaggerated voice of a girl.
Now stop it, will you! You're the one who's acting so absurdly!
Alvin grumbled.
You dumped me then remember!
Andrea put both her arms on top of her waist and looked at him with
