About this ebook

How far would you go to save a child?

Cellar Full of Cole finds Chicago and San Francisco connected by a pair of human traffickers with no respect for life, family, or the innocence of children. “Not getting involved” isn’t in Cole’s nature - but even helping solve one mystery, may not be enough to get him out of Chicago alive.

The chance for a new beginning makes the offer of a job on the West Coast an easy decision for Cole. But, from the start, Cole is thrown into an investigation of the senseless killings of three little girls in San Francisco.

Before he can say good-bye to the Windy City, the call for help from an old friend pits Cole against the seedy underworld of human trafficking and child abduction.

This tale of two cities puts Cole’s investigative skills to the ultimate test - and forces him to put his loyalty to his friends above the law. The question is, will he survive to write the story?

Micheal Maxwell has found a niche in the mystery genre with The Cole Sage Series that departs from the usual, heavily sexual, profanity laced norm, and gives readers a character driven stories, with twists, turns, and page turning plot lines, but most of all a hero they can relate to and root for with each new case he finds himself involved in.

The Cole Sage Mystery Series started with Diamonds and Cole. Why not read them all?

Interview with the Author
Q - So, tell us about Cole Sage. What makes it special?

A – When I wrote Diamonds and Cole I never dreamed it would still be a multi-books series. Part of the motivation to write more books was the response to Cole. He's a guy with a lot of heart. Men and women both really respond to him. He's suffered loss and heartache and comes back stronger and wiser. In a lot of private detective novels, the character isn’t somebody you’d have over for dinner, at least not more than once. Because Cole is a newspaper man and journalist, he's an everyman, not a typical hardboiled detective. In life there is crime and punishment and that's what motivates Cole. He has a pretty strong moral compass. That’s not to say he won’t make a pretzel or two out of the rules though.

The Cole Sage books draw from a lot of genres. At their heart is the mystery and thriller - private detective genre. The stories could be torn right off the front page of the paper. The political thriller aspect is true crime, current news, and the serial killers Cole deals with seem to have real faces.

I want people to have a great read, with some twists and turns, that in the end leaves them wanting more of this unique and exciting mystery book hero.

Q – Do our readers have to read the Cole Sage Series in order?

A - There is a back story that weaves through the books, but each book can and does stand alone. But this is probably the best order...

- Diamonds and Cole
- Cellar of Cole
- Helix of Cole
- Cole Dust
- Cole Shoot
- Cole Fire
- Heart of Cole (coming soon)

Q - Why should our readers read The Cole Sage Series?

A – This series is a mystery series with heart. The Cole Sage Series gives readers who don’t want excessive sex and profanity a place to call home. Being the new guy on the block I have to deliver the goods and The Cole Sage Series does just that. Diamonds and Cole continues to stay in the top of the Amazon charts, while staying true to the commitment of a moral character.

I think once readers meet Cole Sage they'll keep coming back for more.
