      Many characters, original illustrations, and a final plot twist make of "The Silent Owl" a picture book I want to read over and over again.

      Story: 3 stars. Cute idea, but a little clunky on execution. Does introduce some good vocabulary words, but parents would probably have to explain the meaning when the story is read aloud.

      Illustrations: 4 stars. Imaginative mixed media illustrations, adorable characters, and kid-friendly colors.
