About this ebook

Three sisters planned to spend a fun, relaxing week at the beach.

Before the week even got started, though, the three were involved in a murder as well as a suspected case of embezzlement. While the three women, an FBI Agent, and a local Detective work hard to unravel the mystery, more bodies were added to the mystery.

The local Detective wondered if one of these sisters was truly a victim or the suspect. He hoped he would be able to keep them safe long enough to find out, especially since he was very attracted to the youngest sister.

This books is a novella of 17,000 words.

    MURDER AT MYRTLE BEACH

    Elizabeth Sherry

    Chapter 1

As Joy packed for her week in Myrtle Beach, she smiled and thought of all she had to share with her two sisters.  It had been over six months since the three of them had a Sisters Week, and the excitement was brewing in her mind.

Joy and her two sisters, Beth and Lynn, tried to get together twice a year for fun, food, relaxation, and loads of laughter.  Beth was Joy’s older sister, while Lynn was the baby of the family.  Although they didn’t usually plan much on their weeks together, they still managed a week full of fun that would go by before they knew it.  All three always took home beautiful memories and lots of laughter.

The last Sisters Week was a little different than most.  Beth stumbled upon a dead body and somehow they were all involved in a murder.  Things got a little scary for a few days but, thanks to the FBI Agent Beth met on her plane, Tyler, and his friend Michael, who was the Sheriff in Cripple Creek, Colorado, things worked out.  Beth began dating her FBI man, and Joy began dating Michael ...so some good came out of the week.  Joy hoped, though, that this week would be filled only with laughs and relaxation.

While she packed clothes for the fall weather in Myrtle Beach, Joy hoped she had room for everything.  She planned only to take one check-on bag and one small carry-on bag.  She always seemed to pack more than she needed, and she wanted to bring gifts for her sisters.  Since she never knew what would happen, she tended to pack more changes of clothes than necessary.

Joy knew Lynn would be driving down from North Carolina to pick her up at the airport.  Beth would be driving from Atlanta, though.  They all would arrive at about the same time at the beach condo they were renting for the week.

Joy’s phone rang while she was going through her jewelry to pick out pieces to wear on the plane and for the week.

Hello Lynn.  I’m so excited and almost packed, Joy told her sister.

Beth will be getting in early so I will pick her up at the condo and we will both meet you at the airport.  Then it’s time for fun and laughter! Lynn told Joy, and they both laughed.

Oh, great, we have so much to share with each other, and I’m looking forward to some seafood and walks on the beach, Joy responded back.  Let me finish packing so I can get some sleep, and I’ll see you both in the morning.  Love you, Joy said as she ended the phone call.

Her stomach fluttered with excitement. She was not sure how much sleep she would be getting, but she knew she had to try.  The three women usually stayed up very late talking and laughing, and she didn’t want to miss a minute due to being too tired.

Joy found the gifts she was bringing for Beth and Lynn, and wrapped them in a couple pairs of jeans so they wouldn’t get damaged during the flight.  Every year they took turns picking out gifts for each other.  They called them Sisters Gifts and this year it was her turn.  The gifts were always bought in three’s so all three of them could have the same item.  Sisters Week was a big event and this year Joy decided on crystal hearts with a small clock as the gift.  Each heart was engraved with a beautiful poem about sisters and friends, and she knew her sisters would treasure them.

Joy ran her hand through her short blonde hair and tried to think of what she might be missing that she still needed to pack.  Her bathroom articles could wait until morning since she still needed to use them one more time before she left.  She looked around her closet and decided she had everything packed that she would need.

She had to be up by three in the morning to get ready to drive to the Colorado Springs airport.  Her flight would depart at five in the morning and would arrive in Myrtle Beach at approximately ten due to the two-hour time difference.

Just as Joy was getting out of the shower, she heard her phone ring and ran to answer it.
