This is a wonderful book! I love how it was put together. It was simple to read, follow and the food that I have tried so far has been fabulous. I have purchased a number of books on Paleo diets and clean eating. I find this book to be a wonderful addition to my clean eating library and I would put this one at the top of the list!

This is a nice book of basic clean eating ideas. I read a lot about this subject but it is handy to have one basic guide. I am not of big fan of ebooks so would be much happier with a real book in my hands.Serving size approximation using hand is very helpful. Most people know about protein serving being the size of your palm but how many know that fruit and beg serving should be about the size of two cupped hands?Healthy fats are listed in section labeled Foods to Cut Down on or Use Sparingly and then are "recommended" later. It would be helpful to reiterate the use sparingly part there.I would like to have seen sample Weekly Clean Eating Plans. It would help to see some possible pairings of recipes. The recipes sound tasty and simple to prepare. I tried a few and was pleased with the results. All in all a very good book.

Clean eating means maintaining a balanced diet while avoiding processed foods and foods containing pesticides or additives. As explained in the book, this concept is not new (remember the 60s?) and not complicated, and this book does a good job introducing the reader to both clean eating and the principles of a healthy diet. This book is for anyone wanting to make a positive change in their eating habits but is having trouble getting started. For those already familiar with the principles of clean eating, the recipes may be worth a look. They are not complicated or too expensive and recipes appropriate for special diets (low-sodium, vegan, gluten-free, etc.) are clearly marked.

Beautiful book with easy to read and well-organized chapters. I appreciate the fact that it starts basic, explaining why clean eating is important without getting too preachy. Snack ideas are listed, as are foods you CAN eat, which is actually more helpful that the foods you can't. As a newbie to clean eating I'd say this book is a winner. I do wish for more photos of the recipes, but that seems to be my issue with most cookbooks.

I was so excited to receive this book for an early review on Library Thing! I have always eaten healthy but have wanted help taking it to the next level. This cookbook offers insightful information, clear direction on how to obtain clean eating goals, and tips, as well tasty recipes!! I tried the Oatmeal-Peanut Butter Smoothie and fell in love with this book. I would definitely recommend this book to family and friends looking for help and direction on clean eating! I can't wait to try more recipes.

This is the cookbook Ive been looking for! I have so many food sensitivities and trouble finding interesting and good recipes that are supportive to my diet. I got the eBook for free but like it so much I am thinking of buying the hard copy. I am also sharing it with friends and hope they will review it as well.

I received this cookbook as an ebook from the Early Reviewers program. This is a primer on clean eating, which I would also call "common sense eating." There is a short introduction of very basic information that many readers and cooks will already know if you pay attention to this stuff or if you have read any Michael Pollan, quoted in the introduction. I would have liked some more detailed information in this section, including perhaps a sample menu plan or getting started meal plan for those transitioning to this lifestyle. The recipes are numerous and varied. There is a chapter on on snacks and one on kitchen basics--often overlooked categories--in addition to the expected chapters for breakfast, sandwiches, soups and salads, sides, and main courses. I was pleasantly surprised to find a chapter dedicated to smoothies and one to vegetarian entrees, a category that many cookbooks overlook even though many of us are trying to eat meat-free at least some of the time. All of the recipe names in the contents are linked to the actual recipe. The recipes themselves include cooking and shopping tips, nutritional information, and--most appreciated--cook and prep times. The recipes seem simple and easy to make.Clearly, the cookbook is designed for print, not as an ebook, so that detracts somewhat from my review. For example, you don't get the benefit of what I am sure are full-color photographs. Also, the recipes are not laid out well for electronic format, and won't be easy to reference when cooking. I would recommend getting this book in its print format instead.I think this is a good primer for someone who doesn't know much about this style of eating and who is perhaps just beginning to cook from scratch for themselves. Those who are looking for more in-depth information may be disappointed, though.

I have to admit this is my first time to review a cookbook/nutrition book. I do have a degree in Dietetics from CSULB, albeit 30 years ago. Based on that, I will say this book seems to be well researched. The premise is to consume quality products as opposed to processed and refined foods. If you can do this 80% of the time you will be healthier. This is a lifestyle book. The book goes through the fundamentals, principles and benefits of the clean eating diet. It tells you the foods you can eat and foods to avoid. It explains the problems with processed foods and gives a fairly detailed eating plan followed by recipes. I did not have a chance to try any of the recipes, but I do cook and just from reading them they don't sound overly complicated. They do sound like they will be tasty, like the creamy orange smoothie, coconut quinoa porridge, sweet potato hummus and the mango bean salad, to name a few. I definitely plan on trying the recipes and incorporating the eating principles outlined in the book.

I am on a clean eating diet right now so this was interesting to look at. What I loved the most was that it seemed like these were ingredients I could get my hands on with more interesting ways to prepare them. The pictures were great. I think I would prefer to have it in actual book form but for Ipad lovers, I bet it looks great on there too and it would be one less cookbook to store. I'm very happy to have a copy of this e-book. Thank you to Library Thing Early Reviewers for the advance copy. I will be trying these recipes.

A great cookbook for a family or person just learning about cleaner eating. Gives a great introduction about why clean eating is better for you and what foods are wholesome and what foods to avoid. I enjoyed the smoothie chapter and made the roasted vegetables with thyme. Recipes are not complicated and do not contain a lot of expensive ingredients which is a plus for me!! Overall I thought it was a great beginner cookbook into whole foods eating but I wish there were more recipes in each section.

I was a bit skeptical upon receiving this title. I am a fan of cookbooks but I usually find those that push lifestyle changes a bit off putting. Not so with Clean Eating Made Simple. This cookbook provides very useful information concerning a variety of special needs diets (i.e. Allergies, heart issues, overall health concerns). The various diets are explained in the first part of the book and then indicated in the recipe section. And the recipes are terrific! I plan on including several in my regular diner rotation! The recipes also include tips on shopping for ingredients, special dietary concerns and uses for leftovers!I would definitely recommend including this title in any cookbook collection.
