      The 4th book in the series, and it's grim. Elise is still trying to save the demons, humans, and angels, but nothing seems to come easy. A hard read, but well worth it.

      I wasn't sure about this series when I first started it...I liked it, but I was annoyed because it took a long time for things to be explained. But let me tell you, it's worth the wait! This book totally blew me away. When I got to the end of it I felt like I'd survived an explosion it was so powerful! I told my husband he has to read this series and he can't stop until he reads to the end of this book. I told my son the same. It was really amazing. Some of the best writing I've read in a long time, and definitely one of the most emotionally powerful and gripping stories I've read in ages. Gritty, horrific, mind-blowing ending. I loved it!! The characters and their relationships are complicated, messy, sometimes they are unkind and hurtful. They feel real. i'm so glad that I bought all the books in the series because I cannot wait to start Dire Blood, the 5th book.
