Tears from Kabul: Book 3
Chapter 9
It was a long flight for Clancy to Germany. Once he finally got there he went through five different surgical operations to put him all back together, then it became a waiting to see if he would live or die. The General received a special pass from the president to fly four people to Germany. Tickets and visas issued to Niki, Homa, Jones and Samantha to visit Clancy at the hospital. They arranged for living quarters at a nearby military base. The Secret Service would supply transportation and security during their stay. Clancy, Jones and Samantha had rewards posted on their heads by the Taliban and it was the job of the Secret Service to make sure no one collected. Samantha told the Secret Service the last group had a traitor. She had special permission by the president to shoot any traitor dead on the spot.
Niki went in to see Clancy first alone and she reached out and held his hand in hers, she cried and she could not stop crying.
She knew it was wrong for a Muslim to love a Christian, but she could not pretend not to love Clancy anymore. It was a lie and the truth was she would rather die than to live in a world that Clancy was not a part of. Niki called Homa into the room I love Clancy and if he lives through this I will marry him.
Homa hugged her sister and together they cried. They heard a noise and saw Clancy’s arm move, he was trying to say something. Niki ran out to get a nurse as Jones and Samantha came running into the room.
The nurse checked his vital signs and when she said Clancy was starting to return to life, he grabbed the nurse’s dress and she put her head near his mouth so she could hear what he was trying to say. The nurse repeated Clancy’s words for the room to hear. I love you Niki and Homa.
Clancy fell back to sleep. Niki and Homa both gave Clancy a kiss on his forehead. Then the nurse ran everyone out of the room and called the doctor in to make tests.
Clancy will need his rest, maybe he can see you later tonight but for now, he needs his rest,
the nurse said as she shut the door.
Later that night everyone went to see Clancy, he was tired but he was able to talk to everyone for a short while before the nurse kicked everyone out. Clancy said, Thank you everyone for caring enough to be at my side, Niki, if they don’t kill me first will you marry me?
Niki said, Of course I will and I love you.

Samantha, Jones and Homa returned to Kabul. The students from Niki’s group agreed to watch Homa until Niki returned to Kabul.
Eight months later Clancy, finally released from the hospital and together with Niki, returned to Kabul. The General told Clancy he had had a hard time keeping him in the Army. They wanted to give him a medical discharge and have him retire from the Army.
Clancy met with Jones and Abdul. to discuss what happened since he was in Germany. It can only be described as the start of a civil war,
Jones said.
Abdul and Jones had supplied weapons normally not available to civilians to resistance fighters. Jones and Abdul together control the resistance force against the Taliban and Nahser has lost much of his power. Now Nasher has half the city under his control,
said Jones. Any increase in weapons and civilian manpower was inevitable. But the General and the Afghan president ignore the new events happening around them.
Jones told Clancy about the last sighting they had of Nahser, the house completely blown up by RPG-7 rocket fire. "Abdul’s men tore the house apart. Nahser is running scared
