      NOVEEZ ERROR

      POLITICS ARE FOR PEOPLE WITH a lot more patience than I have. In the Noveez antechamber, a metal room so polished that it tickled her ‘show-off’ meter, Tammy nervously tapped her fingers against the arm of the equally gleaming chair.

      But finding a Human diplomat equipped and willing to interfere in a Catati affair would’ve been impossible. Even if the United Nations had, by some miracle, promptly found someone the Catati authorities would be willing to authorize for the job, it would’ve taken a good month to pick them up from Earth and ferry them here. Even the week it had taken to convince the UN to give Tammy temporary diplomatic status might’ve been too long.

      On the bright side, she’d been able to start for this alien station while waiting for that paperwork to go through, so it wasn’t as if the extraction team had lost time while they got their plan A prepared.
