About this ebook
As I write this book, I am midway in my career. I had the opportunity of becoming an Information Technology (IT) leader for a Business Unit in a Fortune 500 company. I began my career in IT as a software developer. Every moment in my career has been exciting. I began thinking about my core strengths, areas where I could have done better, and what I could have avoided in my career and personal life. As I think about what I like best, I realize it is giving advice. I am a mentor for some of the junior professionals. Through the process, I have asked myself what if, by a flash of miracle, I take their place and have my experience come along with me. I may be able to succeed at a much faster pace. The wisdom I share in this book is related to my life in IT. This book is aimed at IT professionals with one to three years of professional experience and who have a genuine desire of making it big in the world of Information Technology. If your end goal is to be a leader in any IT organization then this book is for you.

Chapter 1 - Why I chose to write this book
As I write this book, I am midway in my career. In the last year or so, I began thinking about my core strengths, areas where I could have done better, and what I could have avoided in my career and personal life. As I think about what I like best, I realize it is giving advice. As my wife and daughter can vouch, I am quick to giving advice on almost any topic. I hear them say, There he goes again!
At work, I love sharing my experience with new employees so they can avoid some of my mistakes. I also love being a sounding board for many of my acquaintances. I am a mentor for some of the junior professionals. Through the process, I have always asked myself what if, by a flash of miracle, I take their place and have my experience come
