    Just turned 40, living in the Chicago area since 1986 and into writing and photography. I'm a voracious reader and open to most genres. She graciously granted me permission to use one of her original art pieces Crimson Girl (Paint, Ink - Feb. 2012) as this ebook’s cover. Carlie is a dear, lovely friend whose friendship and art inspire me to take chances and delve deeper into the shadows.

      This book is also dedicated to the late, great H.P. Lovecraft who inspired me in college to write the original draft of this story so many moons ago. One of the few surviving stories from those early days in my writing journey, it always called to me like Cthulu. I’m grateful for his inspiration and humbled by his mastery of the word.
