    Introduction

    The Samsung Galaxy S4 is in the top 10 bestselling smartphones on Amazon.com, and it wows right away, as its five inch, AMOLED full high definition screen comes to life within a polycarbonate case that makes it light to carry. The AMOLED feature is technically listed as the broadest color gamut available of any mobile device – for now, of course.

    The screen is physically constructed from Corning Gorilla Glass, providing high strength and scratch resistant protection. With a textured design on the backside of the phone, it is easy to carry and use, without slipping from your hands inadvertently, and is easily held by its size of 5.37 x 2.75 x .3," weighing a simple 4.6 ounces.

    Setting up the Samsung Galaxy S4

    After you remove your Samsung Galaxy S4 from the box, you will have to do several things before the phone is ready to power up and use. The following sections detail what you have to do before your phone is ready to go.

    Adding the Battery and SIM Card

    The first thing you will have to do is put the battery into your Samsung Galaxy S4. First, turn the phone over, and remove the back cover. To do this, find the release latch, which will be in the upper left-hand side of the phone. Insert your fingernail into the groove, and firmly pop the cover off the phone. This will leave the battery compartment opened.

    Before inserting the battery, you will add the SIM card. Information about how to insert the SIM Card is below.

    Adding the SIM Card

    There are two ways to go about the SIM card addition. First you can use the brand new one that came with the device, or you can insert your old one – with your information, images, videos, and music – directly into the Samsung Galaxy 4S, assuming your old SIM card is a micro-SIM and it matches. This option makes switching to the new phone much easier.

    Either way, you will begin by carefully removing the back cover of the handset by lifting the recess with your thumbnail to lift the cover away gently. Face the rear of the phone towards you, and locate the metal cover to the right of the battery contacts, and slide the micro-SIM into the recess beneath it. Insert the cut-corner end in first, with the metal contacts of the micro-SIM are facing downwards.

    Your card is in, and you are ready to add the battery!
