Introduction
Luke 14:10, 11¹⁰But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee. ¹¹For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

John 13:3-5 ³Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God; ⁴He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself. ⁵After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.

Humility is the distinguishing characteristic of countless successful leaders, pioneers, and forerunners. Perfecting the art of humility requires continuous prayer, Godly council, biblical wisdom and self abasement. The leader that discovers this jewel of great price will find it to be an effective asset in advancing the Kingdom of God and launching them to new levels of success.
Humility can be defined simply as being humble. For most of us this simple definition overlooks many key characteristics of the word. The English word humility is derived from the Latin word humilis
, which means lowly or low. In this book I propose three definitions of humility which pull back the outer layers of the word and let us see the fullness of its meaning.
Firstly, humility is the characteristic of a person who is modest and therefore does not think of themselves as being better, superior, or more valuable than everyone else around them.
Secondly, humility is the condition of being free from pride, arrogance, and pretension; therefore manifesting a sense of lowliness.
Thirdly, humility can be defined as the tendency to not overestimate one’s ability and one’s ideas; therefore not over ranking one’s self.
The opposite of humility is pride. Pride can be put into effect in two ways in the life of the believer. Firstly, a person can have a healthy view of themselves, valuing their own ideas, vision, and worth. This level of pride is very healthy as long as the believer acknowledges Christ as their source and honors Him for all their accomplishments.
Secondly, a person can have an unhealthy level of pride which is not conducive to the Christian life. This second level of pride can be defined as an excessive belief in one’s own worth, merit, ideas, and vision. This unhealthy level of pride has no place in the life of the believer and can produce a lot of pain for the one exercising it.
Excessive pride comes directly from the work of the devil in the earth, and it leads to the destruction of those who walk its path. Let us endeavor to destroy every seed of unhealthy pride and haughtiness which tries to attach itself to our life.
True humility reveals
