About this ebook

Author V. J. Moore continues his exploration of the Biology of the Atonement with a focus on the “Tabernacle of the Testimony” (also called “the Tent of Witness”), whose plan God gave to Moses on Mount Sinai. Moore maintains that the Tabernacle was no ordinary witness. It was an “expert witness” that provides us with “expert testimony” regarding the Atonement. He concludes that the Tabernacle was a divinely given model of the human cell (as were the Temples, whose designs were based on the Tabernacle), in which the Holy Place corresponded to the Cell proper and the Most Holy Place corresponded to the Cell Nucleus. The Ark of the Covenant, which rested within the Most Holy Place, modeled the DNA (i.e., chromosomes) found inside the Cell Nucleus. Moore holds that an analysis of the Day of Atonement ceremony that took place within the Most Holy Place of the Tabernacle and Temples year in and year out for over a thousand years bears witness to what took place in the cells of our Lord’s body during His Burial. He concludes that the Atonement Day ceremony encoded in ritual an identifiable process of genetic engineering in which the Old Covenant (human genome) was deactivated and a New Covenant (the genome for the Body for Heaven) was activated. An examination of the ceremony provides us with a detailed scientific account of Stage Two of the transformation of the earthly body into a Body for Heaven. Moore’s analysis will help you discover the intellectual keys that unlock the hidden science within God’s Word. Includes 39 illustrations.

PART I—THE SANCTUARY AND THE CELL

    1. The Temple and the Body

The New Testament repeatedly equates the Temple and the Tabernacle with the human body:

For example, in his first letter to the church at Corinth, the Apostle Paul says, "Don’t you know that your body is a Temple of the Holy Spirit…? (1 Corinthians 6:19)

Jesus, in particular, referred to His body in such terms: Jesus answered, Tear down this Temple and I will rebuild it in three days. The Judeans replied, It took 46 years to build this Temple and you are going to rebuild it in three days? But the Temple He spoke of was His body. (John 2:19-21)

Likewise, Peter refers to his own body as a Tabernacle: I think it is proper to refresh your memory as long as I live in this, my Tabernacle, as has been made clear to me by our Lord... (2 Peter 1:13-14)

In a similar fashion, Paul speaks of the body as a Tabernacle and an earthly house: Now we know that if the earthly house of our Tabernacle is destroyed we have a Building from God… For while we are in this Tabernacle, we groan and are burdened… (2 Corinthians 5:1, 4)

John, too, chimes in with this chorus of witnesses by referring to the Lord’s assumption of a fleshly body as tabernacling: The Word became flesh and tabernacled among us. (John 1:14)

For the sake of simplicity I use the word Sanctuary to refer to both the Tabernacle and the Temples. The Temples’ structures were based on the Tabernacle’s and so they are nearly identical for our purposes.

    2. The Pattern Given to Moses

God gave the design for the Tabernacle to Moses on Mount Sinai. Later, Moses was warned just before building the Tabernacle: See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain. (Hebrews 8:5, NIV)

The Tabernacle was, basically, a large tent, which the Israelites disassembled, carried from place to place, and reassembled as they wandered through the wilderness for 40 years. The priests offered sacrifices on the Brazen Altar outside of the tent and ministered in the Holy Place inside of it. The Israelites’ national life revolved around the Tabernacle. Even their encampment was arranged with the holy tent in the center and the 12 tribes situated around it in a pre-established order.

Several hundred years later, after the Israelites had settled in the land of Canaan, King Solomon built a Temple and modeled it after the Tabernacle. In a sense, Solomon’s Temple and, much later, Herod’s, were simply more enduring versions of the sacred tent. Both Temples respected and imitated the design for the Tabernacle delivered to Moses.

Since God Himself, wrote the blueprint for the Tabernacle, and therefore also for the Temples, we should regard the New Testament’s repeated equivalence of these structures and the human body with the utmost seriousness. In some manner the Tabernacle and Temples constituted divinely given models, or replicas, of
