    You're the best.

    Preface

Some things you are told while growing up you find out are not true. Others are not quite as they seem. This was my life. All of it. But to get to the end, you need a beginning. Mine started much like other people. I was born, I grew up, I went to school. I made friends fairly easily, I was just a naturally easy going person. Some friends you make for life, others come and go.

When I reached my sixteenth year of life, things changed a bit. I didn't know at the time about magic, about Gromme, about anything other than being a teenager. I look back now and realize how obvious everything was, but when it was happening, I just thought things were a bit weird. I didn't question my best friend, nor his family. I didn't even question my own father
